I want some new Metal/Death Metal to listen to. It doesn't matter how old or new the band is...as long as their kick ass.
I want something horrifically heavy with lyrics I can at least partly understand.
If you name a band, could you name a few of their songs for me? Thanks guys :coolbeer:

Decapitated - Their most recent effort is fuckin mad "Organic Halucinosis" (look up the song Day 69).
Darkane - Any of their stuff is great, personal fav. albums are "Rusted Angel" and "Layers of Lies".
Behemoth - Their "Demigod" album has alot of great songs, 'Slaves Shall Serve', 'XUL', 'Demigod' and 'Towards Babylon'.
All Shall Perish - If you like Deathcore this is the band for you, songs I suggest are: 'Wage Slaves', 'There is no Business to be done on a Dead Planet' and 'Deconstruction'.
I've got many others, but i'm tired so get off my back :)

Raintime's a really great band, especially because the members themselves are awesome guys. I saw them play at ProgPower USA a few months ago and met them after the show. They were the only band there that signed things with messages and asked for your name and everything.

waking the cadaver
i didn't know that people outside the myspace community knew about that band. wow! That's probably one of the shittiest excuses for a death metal band I've ever heard. It's total Devourment worship, but with new age hardcore elements thrown in. Like Devourment wasn't god fucking awful to begin with, Waking The Cadaver had to mimic their style and add an extra bag of shit to it!
As for real death metal, here's a couple reccomendations of mine. I didn't put down everything because I'm lazy and that would take too long. This should get you started though.
What I'm listing are the albums that are (for the most part) easy to find. There's tons of obscure stuff I also love, but I'm not trying to lead you on a wild goose chase for things like the Demilich demo albums and such.
These are also not neccesarily my favorite albums from the bands (most of the are...but for example, the Carcass album "Heartwork" pales in comparison to their earlier album "Symphonies Of Sickness"), but what I consider to be very good but also more accesible (spelling?) audibly to the casual death metal fan or somebody starting to get into it. Anyhow, here's some stuff to chew on:
Death: Leprosy, Scream Bloody Gore
Entombed: Left Hand Path
Impetigo: Horror Of The Zombies
Pestilence: Consuming Impulse
Asphyx: Embrace The Death, The Rack, Last One On Earth
Autopsy: Mental Funeral
Blood Freak: ALL THEIR ALBUMS! It's total horror movie worshipping death metal and one of my favorite "new" bands. www.razorbackrecords.com to check them out!
Frightmare: SAME WITH BLOOD FREAK'S ALBUMS! They are also on razorback records...
Coffins: Mortuary In Darkness
Lord Gore: Resickened
Bolt Thrower: Pretty much their entire library! I can't believe nobody mentioned this band yet!!!
Carcass: Heartwork
...this is mostly pretty straight forward death metal (and many of these albums are what you'd call "old school death metal"). There's also the many sub genres as well...but I don't want to bore people by comparing the band Catacombs to Disembowelment and their blend of doom/death to each other's albums respectively.

Found an awsome video of a Zombie Ritual live. It was taken from someone in the crowd, and it's actually a good quality video. Fuckin' bad ass. These guys sound awsome live. Got to love a band of zombies

Speaking of Zombie's. Check out Send More Paramedics. They've split up, but they were quite an interesting band.
"The name is a reference to the 1985 horror/comedy, Return of the Living Dead. The band originally formed as a side project of Leeds band And None of Them Knew They Were Robots, but have gained a higher profile than And None of Them Knew They Were Robots, who have since split up.
The band play in the 1980s crossover style, with lyrics about zombies and cannibalism, and are heavily influenced by zombie movies. On-stage, they dress as zombies and the drummer dons a Mexican wrestling mask (a homage to the character in Brian Clement's Meat Market films with whom he also shares the name El Diablo). As part of this on-stage persona, band members claim to be members of the living dead."

I saw Zombie Ritual twice when they came to Portland a while back. It was one of the coolest fucking concerts I've ever been to outside of GWAR. I was drunk off my ass and walking around like a zombie in the mosh pit. Everybody was way excited and having a blast!
I have photos that I took of the show as well...I'll look into putting them on my computer for you Zombie Ritual fans!

Don't think I've shared this yet, but I found a video a while back that some guy made on MS Paint of Cookie Monster singing part of Intestine Baalism's song "Anatomy of the Beast." Funny as hell, and a great sample of one of their best songs. Check it out, funny as hell  :

That video was lame, good music though.
Anywho;
