AVP: R is must see

After seeing a Christmas night showing of this film, I can say this is awesome. This film totally atones for the pathetic first film for this franchise.

Tons of gore and action. I was a little disappointed that they kept out the requisite topless scene, but it is a small complaint.

I noticed alot of the threads regarding this were in the non-horror section. There was so much gore/suspense in this that is warrants the label. Very dark. From the first scene, the director's showed that they were gonna push the mainstream limits on this one.

Yeah I kinda agree that it was way better then the first one. Which I pretty much enjoy it. Some of the people may not. Because of the plot and the ending. I was pretty much confused about the ending before the credits run up.

I hope you're right, because I've read/heard exact opposite sayings from others. I really really want this to be good, and I really really want the predator to actually kick some ass.

I can't see it being great, but should be a good popcorn flick. The main qualm i'll have with it will be the CGI gore. CGI = poo.

I have yet to see it but ALL the pregame hype was this was supposed to put Andersons movie to shame. I guess for some it didnt even do that.

Yep, was a fun watch. Nothing specacular but enjoyable. Kinda of reminded me of Resident Evil: Apocalypse towards the end though haha.

PS - Can someone PM me and explain the ending? Who was that chick the Colonel was talking to about the Pred's gun?

the ending is setting up for a part 3. I did enjoy the movie and will own it on DVD but it theres things about it that bugged me. Everything happening in the dark made some things hard to see and was aggervating, and it had some questionable CG in it. But all in all it was a good movie. The ending battle with the pred and the hybrid ended predictablly. But I'm being to harsh here. Its a monster mash movie. And in that aspect it rocked. And I really dug the Predalien.

This is the AVP movie to see. It's nearly perfect.

I liked that there was just one predator in the movie, and he was pretty badass, instead of a bunch of them that get owned throughout the movie. Overall, nothing amazing, but I had a blast with it.

I saw this movie on opening christmas day and I thought the violence was HELLA badass

Especially when the Predator skins that cop and hangs him from a tree, and my favorite death was when the Predator Threw that one crazy ass blade thing and stuck that one bitch to the wall haha that shit ruled!

The things I didn't like was The Dialog! It was really bad I thought and the actors seemed like television actors then big movie actors. I don't mind new actors and stuff but god damn those people I thought sucked ass. Except the army mom chick that reminded me of Sigourney (s/p?) Weavers character from Alien/s. Except this chick was hittable lol but yeah I thought they shouldn't have had so much dialog and pointless storylines between some of the characters and stuck to what the movie was badass for, KILLING PEOPLE! I thought the CGI was WAYYYYY better in this movie then the other one by far haha. I wasn't a fan of the Predalien thing really. I just hope they don't make more of them in the next one. I give the movie as a action/horror movie - 4/4 but if I were to rate it as a good movie I'd only give it 1/4 I thought the dialog blew and the actors (except badass lady) sucked and the plot wasnt really there. Don't go expecting a good movie but an entertaining one it definitely is :D (sorry for making this longer then it needed to be :p I was bored)

I know this movie was good but it's just that I've been expecting it to be bad for so long cuz of the first one. I dunno, I just left this movie feeling empty. I honestly believe it's cuz the first one was so bad that it ruined it for me. I really hate anderson, but the strause brothers did a pretty great job with this. They just had way to much shit to clean up cuz of that bastard.

I have mixed feelings on this movie. It was disappointing in the fact that there were a lot of characters introduced just for the sake of having someone to die. Like we were shown people who seemed like they were going to be important only to have them die in the very same scene or the scene following the one that they were introduced in.

What I feel the first had on this one is the fact that the first one really did feel like a war. This one was pretty much just Predator Vs. Aliens. I think that the sense of panic would've been much better had this city of people literally been thrown into the middle of a war between two races of creatures rather than just one hunting after a bunch of creatures.

I kinda like the plot for avp 2 the computer game. It's a predator kickin the shit out of some marines then all of a sudden aliens bust in and the whole thing is just an all out battle. I love that game it's sweet as hell.

Thought I was gonna be a slick muthafucka and go see this gory movie on Xmas, wrong! It was sold out. I went back for the next showing and that was sold out too :mad:
It was snowing so I just said fuck it. I finally caught it on friday and it was badass.. I thought it was better than Predator 2 and better than the last 2 Alien flicks. I do agree with the dialogue though. It was horrid. Some of it was directly lifted from Predator, like "get to the Chopper" but a little faggy guy says it :die:

But i'd give it an 8' and it was definatly worth the price.

Just saw this one. I loved it. Great action....especially the fights between A and P.

They killed the father and son which I didn't expect and the nice girl in the diner.

Felt like I was sitting in front of a visual comic book. Everyone was perfectly cast IMO and the writing was on the money. Can't wait for part III.

Also, the addition of new technology was nice (The Predator's razor whip was awesome)

Predalien was cool too.
