At least they have the sense to know its going to bomb and not even attempt a theatrical release.

Its a pitty that they redid this movie, its not looking too good. I really cant find a movie that I am totally stoked out of my mind about in 2008.
The only thing I am truley looking forward to now in 2008 is the filming of Phantasm V. Since the remake of Halloween (which I liked) is overwith and done, I feel like jumping on the Phantasm bandwagon and getting off Halloween's.

when I first heard about this I was happy. Not that it would top the original but the Dawn remake was a fun flick so I figured it wouldn't be any worse. Then I saw the trailer and realized I was dead wrong. This looks horrid.

Wow, no one is going to buy that. ARE YOU FOR SERIOUS?!?!?!?
They should go the "8FTDF Route" and have a DVD cover that has nothing to do with the film, and is a million times better than the film.

On the DVD art work, is that zombie barfing? wtf is it? Looks fucking stupid. FUCK THIS REMAKE. The only good remake was The Hills Have Eyes.

I know this movie is gonna be shit, but it would seem like they tried to fuck it up if it's any worse than DOTD 2:Contagium.

I dont understand why they would make a low budget crappy DTV version.

Probably realized halfway through filming that this was gonna be a box office disaster hence the choice to go DTV.
I think DOTD 04 was entertaining on its own but it falls into that whole roided zombie/killer trend thats been going on for awhile now. I think it would've been solid all around had it just went the route of NOTLD 90 and stayed true to most of the formula while changing some things IMO.

Except I did like Dawn 04 and Halloween, but THHE is the new gold standard.

NOTLD 90 was great.
Oh my God, it was a disaster. One of those piece of shit horror movies only redeemable in value by a horror movie fan's nostalgia. The acting was HORRIBLE, and it's good that they were sticking close to the story and just trying to pay its respects to Romero by adapting it in terms of special effects, etc. But the acting was so fucking terrible, the movie just seems wacky in the end, more insult than homage.

I'll admit. The people who played Tom/Judy/Mr. Cooper were all terrible. Everyone else did an okay job I thought.

I agree.

I just find it a bit strange a film with no recognizable actor (DotD) is getting good reviews and is going to theaters and the complete opposite for this film who have a few recognizable faces in it.

"It's a bad day to be a zombie!" - Nick Cannon, man to bad I already picked my senior quote..:dsp: As soon as I heard that line I knew this movie was gonna be awful.

Thought it was a decent remake.
What I was getting at is staying with the basics like NOTLD 90 did instead of drastically changing the zombies from slow, weak moaners to roided, fast and indestructible like DOTD 04 did.

I agree,at least Savini stuck with Romero's original blueprint for what a Zombie should act like.
I have no interest in this movie, the idea of what a walking corpse should be has been lost for quite some time and nobody makes them like they used to.
