When I move to a new house later this year I will likely have a Plasma for movie watching and a new LCD set for gaming. I've been using Plasma for both and know a bit more about it than I do LCD, so I thought I'd ask if anyone here knows what's the best LCD screen on the market right now or one I should look out for that might be coming out later this year?

I have a Sony and a Samsung, they are both very good quality screens. I'd say go with one of those two brands. I also hear Toshiba makes a good quality LCD screen, but I don't have a Toshiba so I can't speak from personal experience. As far as models go, LCD technology is always improving so needless to say the newer the model the better the screen.

Sony Bravia
Pioneer Elite
Samsung

Are the only ones I would buy the rest while good aren't close to the quality of these above unless you are trying to save a few dollars

Higher the contrast the better, lower the ms the better, higher the color the better, must be 1080p, more HDMI ports the better, and the better the viewable angle the better

Pioneer sounds good to me, since they also make some of the best Plasmas as well.

You’ll have trouble finding a Pioneer LCD screen since they don’t make them. Pioneer is Plasma only, just like Toshiba is LCD only. I remember reading somewhere that Pioneer might start making LCD screens in 2008 or 2009 but I haven’t heard anything about that in a while. Even if they do, I'd still go with either Sony or Samsung since they have been making LCD screens for a pretty long while now and are in there like fourth or fifth generation.
