View Full Version : Can anyone help me out?

I forgot to pay the $10 ticket for not wearing a seat belt before the court date (which was this past Wednesday) because I got busy and just forgot….
Anyways, it says no where on it about paying late. So my question is would I have to pay more because it’s a few days late? And if so, how much do you think?
I seriously forgot with work and school. Many people have told me to just mail it on Tuesday (since Monday is a national holiday) and if they never say anything about it, don’t worry…
What do you think?

$10? You're getting off easy. Here in Mich., seat belt violations are $65, right off the bat.
If you're that worried about it, just call the court on Tuesday AM. (Any citation I've ever received, traffic, parking, or otherwise) has the number for the court that deals with the tickets).

You could have a bench warrant. If you fail to appear to contest or pay the ticket bench warrants are issued. I got an open container ticket that would have become a warrant if I didn't show to contest it. Ofcoarse I showed, contested and won! Shoulda been a lawyer :D

Just go to the police station and pay, worst thing they can do is say a warrent is out for you and if you pay your free to go.

A warrent just means that if you're pulled over by a cop, they know you owe money, and can arrest you (so you can pay the money). They aren't out "looking" for you.
Just call em, find out how much to bring, then go in, wait in line, and pay at the window. It ain't no thing.

Yeah but if you have a warrant and get stopped it means you're going to jail. If you're not familiar with jail it's not a fun place, so i've heard :ahheh:

Do what Darkgod said and go down to the station and pay your fees.
I got two tickets, one for not wearing my seatbelt and for having expired tags. Both I forgot to pay and the next thing I know I get a letter in the mail saying I have a warrant and my fees had basically tripled. Instead of paying $150 in fees I had to pay $450.
But the next day after I got the letter I went down the police station, payed what I owed and everything was taken care of.
