According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, John Carpenter's return to 'Scope* is called L.A. Gothic, and it's from the pipin' hot writing team of Jim Agnew and Sean Keller (the guys who just landed Dario Argento for the Giallo homage sneakily titled Giallo).

The premise goes a little something like this: "Five interwoven stories of high-octane horror centering on a vengeful ex-priest's efforts to protect his teenage daughter from the supernatural evils of L.A.'s dark side."

I'm not really a fan of anthology type movies, but it would be cool to see him return.

Whatever Carpenter puts out I will watch, even though his past works have been slipping from his begenning films

Carpenter is an old school filmmaker and his visions don't exactly translate to modern moviemaking that well. I mean just look at his body of work since ' In the Mouth of Madness '.

Not much to be optimistic about.

With the use of 'high octane' in the description, I imagine something along the lines of Escape from LA rather than something 'scary'

his masters of horror stuff wasn't bad. So I'd watch this, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot from him anymore.

So do I. I know he hasn't put anything worth a crap out since ITMOM, but I have faith this will be interesting at least.

I'd love to see Carpenter put out a good film. Unfortunately, he hasn't done anything that's interested me since THEY LIVE. Not that THEY LIVE was a particularly "good" film anyway...

they live has the pure best fight scene ever

LOL! I rank it as #2, right after Kirk's fight scene with Finnigan in the "Shore Leave" episode.

not a trek fan, but im sure Kirk has some classic lines in that fight and probally still overacts
