Saw V Casting Confirmation
Three characters from Saw IV will return.
by Stax

January 25, 2008 - IGN has confirmed that Saw IV cast members Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, and Costas Mandylor will return for the Lionsgate franchise's fifth installment, which will be directed by the series' former production designer David Hackl.

Bell plays the franchise's central character Jigsaw, while Patterson and Mandylor play FBI Agent Strahm and police detective Hoffman, respectively. Patterson made his franchise debut in Saw IV, while Mandylor joined in Saw III.

The three actors' return was first rumored in a January 24th posting at ProductionCharts.com, which also claims Saw V will shoot in Toronto from May 17 to June 22. Bloody-Disgusting.com reports today that it, too, has heard that Bell, Patterson and Mandylor might be back for Saw V.

IGN has confirmed that filming actually begins March 17 and not May 17, as ProductionCharts.com claims.

Saw V is slated for release October 24, 2008.

no surprise, they always seem to connect previous characters to a new story.

I may be one of the few who actually enjoyed Saw IV. But then, I'd heard such negativity about it that there was nowhere to go but up. I'll see the next installment.

Well that's too bad the series is gonna go to a 6th film but i think that should definately be the final one. Also if you noticed that the director's don't seem to want to do a whole lot of them except for Darren Lynn Bousman who did 3 of them. I'm thinking that they either have other various project's and films that they want to do and step away from the Saw franchise or just get a little bored with them after awhile.

In general, I have nothing against the films. I have seen much worse and they do ok for what they are. Its merely the fact that they want to drag the series on and on that bugs me. The story timeline overlapping can only carry you through so much in sequals. And Jigsaw definately aint Freddy or Jason, returning from the grave. Just end it already, Lionsgate cash whores trashing the name in the search for more cash...

It should've stopped with three. Honestly. A creepy epilogue of the detectives finally finding Jigsaw's dead body would've been sufficient.

Same here man but I didn't even finish Saw 3. I stopped about half way threw and asked my friend how it ended. It just didn't interest me. :dsp:
