danzig is the man fo starting it..but honestly the quality of the music is sooo shitty..but hes still a great singer..

graves..great singer..great recording quality..honsetly..im not gay butd id go gay for him..hahah

Danzig by far, i like the stuff graves did as well and seen them with him twice but the last time i seen them with Only singing was totally shit, almost ruined how much i love the Misfits. Seen danzig a few years ago in London and it was fucking great!!!!

I have a hard time. Danzig was - by far - the better songwriter. Graves was a lot more versatile as a singer. The few really good Misfits songs of the Graves era had a lot of tone that I would not even want to imagine Glen trying to sing.

Then again, songs like Descending Angel or Fiend Club should not have been sung by anyone. Someone else in the band should have simply rolled the lyric sheet up and hit the author in the nose until they drew blood.

The little bit I have heard of Only's one-man Misfits was a letdown. Not going to go there.

I'm not a huge Misfits fan, but from what I've heard I'd have to go with Graves. I really dig some of the songs from that era. Danzig wasn't bad, tho.

I went for the orginal 'fits, simply because they ARE the Misfits... I really enjoy the Graves era misfits, and listen to both of their cds quite often, but they just AREN'T the Misfits... They are a fun band that sings about b-grade sci-fi and horror like the Misfits, but without Danzig, it loses BEING the Misfits.

I've seen the Graves-fits in concert and had a frickin blast at the show (Moshed with Oderus Urungus from Gwar in the pit during the set.. and elboed him in the ribs! Woot!) but it just didn't compare to seeing Danzig and Doyle playing old-school misfits tunes at the Danzig show in November... That was fucking RIGHTEOUS.

A misfits reunion show would be on the top of my Dream reunion shows list... saddly with as much animousity as there is between Danzig and Only, there's no way in hell we'll ever see it.


... on a side note... Doyle's band Gorgeous Frankenstein was pretty damn fun to watch live, and for you Graves-fits fans, they did a bitchin cover of Helena... sounded pretty much identical to Graves.

Doyle is not the lead vocals of Gorgeous Frankenstein... it's some scrawny dude... Can't recall his name, but I met him after their set and he signed my CD... can't read his sig though...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed *some* of the post-Danzig era Misfits stuff. A few tracks on the Famous Monsters album in particular now that I think about it.

...I just don't consider the "new" Misfits anywhere remotely close to what Danzig had put on the table. The only reason they still exist is because they're living off of their past image while Danzig moved on to bigger and better things.

I'm willing to bet that half the fans of The Misfits only still like them because they are *technically* The Misfits.
