Love how most "oldies" stations have had the same playlists for about 20-25 years, now...

Guess nothing else is getting "old."

AS for me, not to be a complete homer fan, Motown has always been my favorite type of "oldie."

The guys in my office tend to listen to a lot of NPR and a lot of the local "Rod" or "Dick" or otherwise singular male name radio stations that plays the worst of all decades and genres. I will never complain about hearing either of them play the Stones.

The Beatles never really did it for me.

John: "Hey Paul, I've been thinking, mate, now that we're rich, how great it would be if all the little people didn't have any money. You know. Communism. The kind of culture that would have us planting potatoes all our lives."

Paul: "Hey, yeah! Money sucks! I mean, we did that whole song saying otherwise back in '63, but sure! The kids will eat it up! We'll make millions!"

George: "Hey guys! I heard this great song out of Motown! Can we do a cover of---"

Ringo: "Save your breath George. They can not hear us anymore."

On an up note, watching Buddy Holly play is sometimes like watching the birth of speed metal.

I like some of The Beatles and Eagles. I also like Deep Purple, Stepphenwolf (sp?) , Zeppelin and over 100 more older rock n roll bands.

Dr. Hook, Joe Cocker, Nazareth, Steppenwolf, etc.
And if you really want to go back a bit...there's the British Invasion decades where we were graced with the likes of the 1910 Fruitgum Company, Sam Sham and the Pharoahs...or we could switch over to a little Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels...perhaps then a little Muddy Waters or Johnny Winter.
Then there's Sweet, some old Cat Stevens...

Have I started to show my age yet?
