Well I just watched 'The Third Mother'. It's the second sequel to Suspiria if you didn't know, and it's flippin sweet! I'll give a very brief rundow with only very minor spoilers which include the types of gore/deaths.

First off, this is Dario Argento's most brutally violent film to date. It has ALOT of gore and is somewhat different from his other work. I believe I saw the uncut version and let me say they'll have to do alot of editing to get this in the theatre's here.

This flick sports absurd amounts of violence and ridiculously gory kills. Such as brutal baby killings, disembowelment, human entrail strangulations, and a healthy dose of cannibalism. Ofcoarse there are alot of other murders but these are a few of the highlights. It manages to tie in rather loosely to the previous films (Suspiria, Inferno), but it doesn't have the same colorful look as they did. It does look excellent and it features some trademark Dario cinematography, but it has a more realistic and less dream like look then the other two. Most of the gore was standard FX and the cgi was used sparringly, although there is some bad cgi, but not much.

I give it a 9/10 for insane over the top violence, and ASIA ARGENTO'S TITS :slpdrool:

The only thing I didn't like was the Spectre, but Asia's money shot made up for it.

Oh yeah there was also alot of female nudity to go along with the gore :D

There is a DVD quality torrent for it, if your interested at 'the pirate bay'.
Search for La Terza Madre, thats the name it's under. Or you can pm :ahheh:

I put both Suspiria and Inferno on my netflix queue after I read about Third Mother in Fango a few weeks ago. They had some good photos from the set, but I think offered more spoilers than can allow for a full enjoyment of it, showed some mangled bodies I remember being identified as main characters.

I read on the latest edition DVD of Suspiria that it features the most graphic murder ever filmed. Anyone think this still holds true?

Nope, not true. Althought the opening scene is DELICIOUS. The most graphic death scene for me is the 1st girl in Hostel 2. I could barely sit through that. It really got to me.

Dispite the fact that I have the Suspiria and Inferno on DvD, I haven't seen Inferno. Suspiria is a good flick, just not inspired enough to see follow ups. I'll likely get around to watching Inferno eventually, series just doesn't do it for me. Not sure why either, it has everything that makes a good series... :shakehead

thrEE6MAfia what did you think of Suspira?
I'm always interested in a persons opinion after viewing one of Argento's movies for the first time, most of all anything before 1986.

Mitropoulos Films has teamed up with Myraid Pictures to distribute Dario Argento's MOTHER OF TEARS... in it's full NC-17 glory!

Looking to go theatrical, TEARS is aiming at June 6th as it's day in the sun to be released to the upon the world. For the most part, I've heard nothing but mixed reviews for this flick, but as it's NC-17 and stars the oh-so-lovely Asia Argento... well, that alone will land my butt in the theater to check this mother out!

No word on how WIDE the theatrical run will be, but considering it's NC-17, I'm guessing very limited, as most theaters simply don't play NC-17 movies. If you're lucky, you live in an area where at least one theater has the balls to carry a movie like this.

Keep in mind release dates (such as this one) are subject to change, and this may (in fact) change a few times before it's settled...

Didn't like Suspiria at all, but the soundtrack was tight. The movie bored me, and I usually don't get bored no matter how bad the movie is. Still haven't checked out Inferno, but The Third Mother sounds interesting. I've seen some pictures, and it looks completely f'in crazy.

I still have problems watching Italian horror...do the newer movies have the same dubbing techniques or are they better with that? I don't know why but that shit drives me crazy.

The ending to this is probably the most hilarious thing I've ever witnessed.

The movie was laughable, and this is coming from a hardcore Argento fan-- the guy needs some creative inspiration, fast. I couldn't believe how campy some of it was, especially the Obi-wan-like Daria Nicolodi apparation, and pretty much any scene involving "all hell breaking loose" on the streets. It tried so hard to be epic but wasn't exactly creative enough with its budget to pull it off. The story was a bunch of occult drivel you'd expect to see in a Rosemary's Baby cash-in from the 70s, it relies on gore scenes and gimmicky chase sequences to keep the audience awake, and any sense of Argento's unique style is pretty much obliterated. So... no style, no story... why are we still watching? Just cause it's Argento? Fuck if I could tell, might as well have been directed by the guy who did Saw.

I watched the Third Mother with subs... But the last dubbed Italian flick I checked still had fairly bad dubbing.

The movie was laughable

Exactly what I was going to say. There were a number of unintentionally funny scenes, and the story was definitely the weakest of the three. The ending is just plain hilarious and bad at the same time. I'm surprised at how much positive feedback it has received thus far. The only redeeming value is the female nudity and the gore. Should have a review soon.

The "Mother of Tears" had a nice rack on her

Anyway, here's my review:

There were some things I was gonna touch on, but decided not to, like going into more detail about the three mothers, and talking about the use of CGI in the movie. I think I got my point across already.
