got similarities to freddy to me. But thats not really a bad thing, considering Craven is doing it. I'd give it a watch.

Sounds closer to Freddy 2 "Or has the mysterious evil personality that once impelled his bloody spree entered the body of an unwary teen, who will now be compelled to do his evil bidding?"
Coming from Craven I don't expect much, probably won't even see it.

My experience with Craven's movies in general is that his movies were awsome when I was a teenager, but as an adult... they pretty much suck.

I've found his work decent and enjoyable. Loved NOES 1-4, but then they began lacking. Loved Red Eye too. I'd probably see this...
... especially if it has some other similarities to Elm St. 2 :eyebrow2:.

Sounds fun, I hope it feels like an 80's freddy flick.

Won't bother with it since Craven is a hack, probably one of the worst of the famous horror directors.

Im sorta mixed on the whole anti/hack Craven crowd.
On one hand, there are legitimate points to make that put Craven in his place. On the other hand, sometimes people act like he has or had in someway wrecked the genre or because he didnt come up with something new and fresh every single outing, he was a hack. Not all of them come out with something fresh everytime. Almost every horror director out there has alot of hit and miss. Arguably Craven is more miss.
Take a look at Sean Cunningham. Theres another guy who directed afew good flicks and since hasnt been much of a thought. Is he a hack because he hasnt contributed to the genre in a while?
Contributions to the genre at this point when it pertains to something 'original' and 'fresh' are far and few between for a few different reasons. Number one the studios reluctantcy to try anything other than what sells which makes sense from a business standpoint. Number two the talent pool isnt as good as some of us think it is, etc.
Nevertheless, Craven has been one to play to the studios hands more often than not. All that said, I guess im still sorta mixed on him as a director. Has he 'contributed' to the genre? Yes, does he have his fair share of question marks? Definitely.
At this point in his career along with other guys like Carpenter, Cunningham, Argento, etc. All the oldschool horror directors only have so many films left in them and its a good bet most or a share of them will pass away without a quality horror film to their credit for many, many years.

Why are people so upset? Because he flips everyone on their heels with scream and addressed on film the way of a horror movie. We needed a shake up and we got it now we need another one, IMO.
