It does seem to have a connection flaw.

Connecting to other players take quite a bit of time it seems if you just want to play other people outside of friend codes. Spectating doesnt take long but everything else does.

I dont think Wireless connection is the way to go with it either like I have. Gonna have to switch things up and buy the Wii lan adapter or something. I dont think their online is cut for wireless.

I use wireless because i assumed it came with an ethernet plug and u didnt need an adapter..

I played online last night and it worked fine and I found people, i also played today with a friend and it worked ok. Only thing i noticed is that u have to pick the same map to play

When u first connect to a game (i assume becuase i only have one game) it gives it to you.

Theres no ethernet port....so u can either by the adapter for $50, or use wifi

I got lucky on some of those with the time running out on some of those games. I was struggling with some of those characters but overall fun games. As the host you can change the game rules when we play via friend code but when you play against anyone outside of friend codes. The rules are set in stone to 2 minute battles. Teams are random if you play teams and the stages I believe are determined by how many pick a certain stage or random.


Do i get all the characters if I beat Subspace?

You get the majority of the characters if you beat Subspace.

However there are characters you can get outside of Subspace by using classic mode. HOWEVER there are characters in subspace that you have to find in order to unlock them.

Those characters are Jiggilypuff and Wolf. In classic mode you can unlock Toon Link but outside of those 3 characters, I think everybody else is attainable by playing and beating Subspace.

When you get the smashball, it should just be the B button to take care of it. Works for me.

So far in my matches online though, I'd have the shortend of the stick with the smashball. My opponents always beat me to it but I've managed to win without it.

Some of the smashes are so weak though. Donkey Kong in particular, his smash is so weak because he has to basically be in the center of the battle for it to be effective.

Sonic is pretty cool, but Link is my fav so far. Nobody has really wowed me though, I've never been really good at this game.

I like DK, Gannon, Bowser, Wolf, Yoshi and sometimes Mario, Snake and Sonic.

I favor the heavy characters alot more. The only trouble is getting the attacks in but when you do your almost garuanteed a KO especially with Gannon, Bowser and DK.

People seem to be staying away from the bigger, clunkier characters in favor of the swordsmen (Pit, Link, Ike, Meta and Marth) probably because they can attack farther away with the swords without having to get close to people and the little guys. Especially Lucas and Ness because even though their small they have pretty powerful attacks if used properly.

That said, I like a challenge and the challenge IMO is winning with the bigger, slower characters.

I got plans tonight, but just about any time during the day tomorrow I will probably be playing. We totally need to beat the hell outta each other on this game. I haven't played SSB with buds in years.

And Luris, for me it's not a learning experience, I've played since the original game and I still suck. Speed characters, for me, are WAY too fast. The controls haven't been the best part of this series, even though it is still very fun. I do better with the all-around characters, or people like Marth, Mario, and even the slower ones like Bowser.

One of the original Donkey Kong/Mario levels from the NES is in the game complete with the fireballs and jumping objects. The other level is from the original Mario Bros game with the POW box at the bottom of the level. Both are pretty cool levels, nice and small which make for quick battles.

When I play some of you online, if you dont have the level, I'll pick them since you dont need to have them unlocked to play them online. As it is, it seems the stage picking is done in order by number of players in the game allowing each player to take a turn picking the stage in order.

I've gotten really good with the characters I've chosen so far and I still havent even explored a multitude of the other characters yet.

I like Sonics speed, my only problem with him is he has no real way of putting other characters away without a smash ball, a weapon or the players damage percentage being way up there. I suppose its good balance because he is easily the fastest character in the game.

Outside of getting better with him. I've enjoyed Ganon, DK, Bowser, Wolf, Snake and Mario so far. The rest I havent even gotten to yet.

I've been playing alot more recently even though I've taken a break for a couple days recently.

The good thing about friend codes if anything is the ability to add others instantly who are in the room with you who arent on your friend codes already when you are playing in rooms with friend codes.

Outside of that, I would say its definitely a broken system. I hear Mario Kart Wii online is far and above superior to Brawl which is sad because Brawl as a series is much more in depth than Mario Kart was or probably ever will be. Nevertheless, I'll be on alot more often probably starting at around 8ish tonight and tommorow afternoon and so on.

Same goes for Mario Kart Wii especially if the online is as good as its been played out to be.

Friend codes = have to be added both ways

However once your in a game using friend codes. If someone else is in the room whose a friend of someone else. You can add that person without exchanging friend codes. All they have to do is accept and both sides are all set.
