Soulsavers - Revival
If you're a fan of Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, QOTSA, etc...) you'll probably enjoy this.

Also, don't take this as religious mush, it's not.

If you're in a crappy mood, and you just need to relax to something that's easy to listen to. You can't go wrong with Newton Faulkner. I have a borderline obsession with his album at the moment.

CACTUS
Don't know if there are any Cactus fans on the board. Early 70's powerhouse rock and roll that holds up with the best of what that era had to offer. (Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc.) Zeppelin stole a lot of their thunder in terms of mainstream appeal, but they had a strong following and blew everyone off the stage.
Tim Bogert - One of the great unsung thunderhouse rock and roll bass players of all time.
Jim McCarty - No doubt helped paved the way for all other blues rock guitarists that came after. This guy wrote great licks, and could seriously cook with the best of them.
Carmine Appice - Easily one of the greatest drummers of all time.
Rusty Day - Ex Nugent (Amboy Dukes) frontman rounded out the group with his raspy energetic voice and the occasional harmonica.
Here's a signature cut: Parchman Farm

If you dig and want to sample more. Have a look at Cactology:

A nice anthology, and a great introduction to the band, even if it is missing a few choice cuts. These guys will blow your fucking speakers.
