Well, least hes a horror geek. I dunno, until I see him in the Standard Jason attire I cant really say anything. Course its not like Jason requires classical theatrical acting lessons either, but I dunno.
here's hoping the film doesnt end up all 'halloween 2007' on us.

Just glad they're not goin' with Kane Hodder again. Mofo made Jason look too buff :dsp:

Eh, I guess he has the build for it... I can't really complain, they're getting a mindless meathead to play a mindless meathead.

But it should! Love all those shaky cam shots that made it hard to tell what was happening.

He looks like a good choice. I wanted Jason to be more lean, skinnier yet still retaining the muscles that make him look ominous. I think that if one franchise NEEDS a remake, it's this one.

I'm just gonna view this as just another sequal since its gonna be so different from the original

Jason was my biggest hero when I was a kid, and since I will be very interested in seeing this one (still expecting it to be crap though) unlike most other remakes who I just skip, I hope this atleast gets done right in a few places.
I know it's pointless to hope this, but I would love it if there's less Hollywood in this one than other remakes/new movies.
Seems like the actor for Jason is right so far, but any large actor could do it.
Jason didnt appear at all in the original so who knows how they're gonna do this. Plus do they really need makeup for that guy, he already looks like a fuckn monster

Cant wait to see this Jason was always my alltime favorite killer plus Friday the 13th is the only horror franchise I'll drag my ass to the theater to see. I just cant pass up seeing Jason on the big screen

There's a Youtube interview about the film that states the film is trying to get Betsy Palmer, Mrs. Vorhees in the first for a cameo.
Here's the the interview.

same here, everytime a movie comes out, i wait till the following monday and go to the latest showing of it. That tends to filter out a lot of the loudmouth teenage population in the theatre.

yea it is always nice to have the place to ur self. Its only happen to me a couple of times... Jason X and The Butterfly effect is the ones I can remember. When I went to the the TBE wit a couple friends we ended up gettin' drunk and kinda trashed the theater... I don't feel bad 'bout it cuz thats what they get for raisin' the prices like every month! I remember when this place first open it was like 5 bucks to see a movie... now its like 12. shit is crazy. But now everytime I go in that theater (the one we trashed) I always laugh at the ppl that sit in the last row in the corner. Cuz they don't know what happen to those seats! :takeleak:

So...is there any confirmation that this is a remake or a sequel or are they starting the franchise over again like they did with Batman?

Should have been Hodder...but I'm still excited about this film. As long as it has boobs and blood, it'll be hard to go wrong.

yeah I like a good horror movie with a full crowd cuz all the girls screaming makes me laugh. It helps with the atmosphere I think. But I understand about crowds getting on your nerves. Especially for a PG-13 movie cuz the stupid kids WILL NOT SHUT THE HELL UP.
I'll see movies like Batman and Ironman on opening night. But I dread the kids in the theater.

I believe this is a "lost chapter". but I don't know quite how they can fit this in. he gets the mask in part 3, part 4 happens right after 3, and he "dies" in part 4. tis' a puzzler.

I'm actually quite pleased with the new jason. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Kane. But the dude is HUGE! For a time it seemed to look like Jason was more of a Zombie pro wrestler than anything.

Depends what way you look at it.
Parts 2 through 4 indicate a much more human Jason who takes quite a bit of punishment and groans when attacked and finally dies in Part 4. When they bring him back in Part 6, from then on its the Jason most people know and associate him as.
The slow moving, methodical zombie Jason.

Hopefully the Director has seen Halloween 2007 and took some notes.
Basically, DON'T SCREW IT UP like they did with Halloween 2007.

Yup. But really I don't want a remake. I think it'll be fun to watch the opening and the first kill but I'd rather they left it alone.

what kind of Jason would everybody prefer? I was arguing with a friend of mine last night cuz he was mad their remaking it. I couldn't get it through his head its gonna be so different from the original that you can just treat it like another sequal, plus he was mad cuz he only wants a Kane Hodder Jason. I liked Kane as Jason a lot, but I wouldn't mind him being a little faster and more agile this time around myself.

I think I'll be shocked if they go with the way Jason was in entries 2 through 4 and I think it would shock alot of other people more or less because most people really only associate him as the slow moving, methodical and sometimes teleporting Jason.
The Jason the series started with up until after Part 4 was different. If they truly are going back to the 'routes' sorta speak. They will bring the fast, more human like Jason back. Time will tell.
