so I finally read the last two issues of the series last night, and overall, this wasn't a bad idea. its a cool story, not a must read, but a definite cool read. I do have some problems with it though.

1: misleading covers- now, all the cover artwork is pretty cool, but none of them have anything to do with the story line. it was basically a trick each issue, especially issues 2 & 3.

2: language- throughout the series, words like "fuck", "dyke", and "retard" are used by Freddy. but in the movies, he never said anything worse than "bitch", so everything sounded forced coming out of his mouth.

3: Freddy's artwork- they managed to do a good job on Ash and Jason's design, especially when Ash SPOILER blows off Jason's mask with a shotgun. Jason's face reminded me of part 7 when his mask was broken off. END SPOILER but Freddy was not even close to being mastered on paper. all the burns on his face just weren't working for me.

overall, I'd give this series a 7/10. its not the best Ash story out there, I would recommend Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness over this. but if you find yourself looking at the issues of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash at a comic store, its worth your time.

I have yet to read it but I want to. Back in 2005, the rumor was this idea was the sequel put in place for Freddy vs Jason. It was supposibly backed by everybody including Bruce Campbell but sadly fell through just like New Line did recently.

in the last issue, Ash refers to the readers as "movie-goers", so this may have been the script for the movie.

I picked up the first issue and it was pretty awful... I'd still like to getting around to the others eventually though.

Have the series sitting in my "to-read" pile.

Haven't heard too much to move it to the top of the stack...

I thought it was great. Although the ending was a bit to predictable. Just picked up Friday the 13th: How I spent my summer vacation and it was cool. Gonna probably go get F13:Bad Lands next. I love the comics.

I think of it as a classic ending.

i dont know if anyone in here knows but freddy vs jasn vs ash pt2 just started yesterday its wierd to say the least but seeing as how there is only one issue so far i will have to wait to see what i think about it.

o and by the way if you get the trade of the first one it talks about how it was the script for the movie but the movie feel through so we got the comic

As far as I know this was the script to the movie that will never happen, so this is just about as close as we will ever get. I might pickup the paperback collection off of amazon, I really liked marvel zombies vs army of darkness and re-animator vs army of darkness was ok
