Getting this anime from Netflix and I've seen a couple volumes worth of it. Has anyone else caught it yet? It's not too bad. It basically revolves around the "Hell Girl" someone you call upon when you want to take revenge on someone. You go to her site at exactly midnight and you put the name of the person you want to die in the search box. The Hell Girl comes minutes later giving a straw doll with a thread on its neck, saying if you pull it, it's a bind contract that means you'll also go to hell when you eventually die.

The series is mostly told in through the perspective of the characters that are featured in each episode and why they want to take revenge on someone. We get bits and pieces of who Hell Girl may be and what-not, but so far (10 eps in) they haven't really told much, if anything, about her and her "Hell Correspondents." However, I'm finally at a part in the anime, where there's an arch storyline involving some photographer who's trying to track down Hell Girl.

Here's the Eng volume 1 trailer:

It's an interesting series, but it would have been great if they kicked it up a notch in terms of violence and gore :(

sounds good. I'll have to check it out. Can you Recommend any other good horror anime? I love gory stuff but it doesn't have to be. Just as long as its good. I've been watching Hellsing Ultimate. I was just wondering since the japanese like making their survival horror video games so much if they had any good anime like that.

Seen the first episode of it. Pretty good, I need to continue it, though. First episode was pretty trippy. Good stuff, though. I've also read the first manga in the series, and it's also pretty good. Ai Enma is pretty awsome. Kind of off topic, but I found a good cosplayer of her about a month ago:

Can you Recommend any other good horror anime?

-Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (and after this; Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai)
-School Days (not really horror, but if you can stand watching 11 episodes of high school romance drama, you'll love the last episode)
-Blood+
-Gantz (Haven't personally seen it, but it is said to be a brutally violent anime)
-Mermaid Forest
-Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek. (An anime movie type of deal)
-Boogiepop Phantom (Pretty brutal stuff)
-Perfect Blue (Never seen it, but it sounds brutal)
-Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade (Never seen it, and I guess there's some debate to whether it is horror, but from the sound of it, it sounds like horror to me)

I don't know an extreme amount of horror anime, though, I do know quite a bit of horror mangas. Anyway, look some of these up and pick out the ones that interest you. I haven't seen all of them, but after reading about them, I'm going to have to check some of these out.

Can't really think of any "survival horror" type animes out there. Couldn't get into Boogiepop, and Jin-Roh is definitely not horror. It's more action/scfi. Perfect Blue is a good killer-type anime movie. I have a review for it on UHM.

I enjoyed Boogiepop but I found Blood+ to be ungodly boring. To repetitive.

Finally finished this series. Not too bad. We do get to find out about Hell Girl's past in the final volume, which I was worried about since the series up until that point didn't reveal much of anything. It would have been nice had the series been more violent or bloody, but it was decent otherwise. I've seen a lot worse animes out there, especially horror-related ones.

7/10

Been wondering about this. I always see the dvds at Best Buy and have always thought the artwork looked pretty awesome. Prolly check it out pretty soon.

I'd recommend just renting it if anything. It's not really worth collecting, in my opinion.

I love this. I was hooked after two episodes. My favorite has to be the one with the girl and the two dogs.
