Hopkins TKO win in the 10th.
Only thing Calzaghe has is his punch-output.. which is tremendous. From what I've seen he doesn't have much defense though.

Im with you guys.
Hopkins depsite how boring he is, is one of my favorites..I just really appreciate what he does in the ring
But the fact stands hes a notrious slow starter and slappy has a rediculous punch output
The only saving grace and thing thats in the back of my mind is that quite obviously hopkins knows about this, and im sure he has something for him.

Think, ultimately, Calzaghe'll wear him out.
B-Hop is one tough mofo, though, so I'm also betting on a decision, though not a close one.

Calzaghe'll pitter-patter his way through the fight and steal enough rounds to win.
I'd try to predict the scorecards but they'll look something like this: 115-113, 118-110, 145-83
good win for Cal, Hopkins just fuckn sucks no doubt about it. that judge that gave it to hopkins needs his eyes fuckn gouged out

Surprised at the early knockdown and the ultimate split.
Hopkins comments afterward sucked.
"The world, the fans, everyone but the Brits knows that I won."
Bullshit.
His trying to defend his acting job on that "low blow" was even worse.

He sucks, so does Calzaghe with his feather fisted style. 2 bums = boring fight.

Calzaghe also never fought in the states and has fought a bunch of chumps though. 32 KOs IS 32 KOs, but when you're fighting Boxcar Willie, it's not too impressive.

I'll concede that his decision to stay in Europe and the UK opens him up to questions, but I don't know if I'd go with the "Boxcar Willie" characterization.
While it's not like I know the guy personally, he doesn't give the impression of someone who's ducking competition. Call me naive to the sweet science, but I do think there's an argument to be made for, having established yourself over x-number of years, posing the question of why you should be the one to go to the next contender instead of making him come to you.

I know what you're saying and generally I'd agree with your statement, but I feel that you have to prove yourself against elite competition. You should have to go to the next contender when you haven't really fought someone of stature. Now if Calzaghe had a handful of fights under his belt in which he faced legitimately tough competition such as Hopkins, etc, then I'd say that he has the right to make the next contender come to him. However, leading up to the Hopkins fight he hasn't fought anyone that can be really considered in the upper echelon. I have to say, I doubt he impressed many people even with his win over Hopkins as well.
I'm not a big Roy Jones fan, but if that's the next fight, I hope Roy knocks him out. I'd hate to see someone reach 50-0 with just a bunch of scrubs/mid-level boxers under his belt and only a couple of wins over real competition.

He Can't beat Roy Jones, even though roy has a glass jaw. Calzaghe pansy slaps wont bother him at all. I'd like to see a Lacey rematch, or let Tarver beat him up.
