Looks like I'll have to add the original to my Netflix Queue. That's the only thing I can tolerate about remakes, they keep me informed on the original movies I haven't watch yet.

thats true, I tend to watch an original myself if I hear something is getting remade. Sad thing is with the success of Prom Night I can gurantee this will be PG-13. Thats the next big thing, there gonna start remaking a bunch of slasher movies and make them so highschool can go watch it. Hence none of the stuff that made slasher flicks good in the first place will even be in these movies.

Hell Night is one of my favorite horror flicks,so I dont support the idea of a remake, but I'll most likely check it out.
Anyways to me the original wasnt gory at all,so if they do do a pg 13 it wouldnt be that bad I guess(not that I support that rating)because the original relied more on atmosphere and suspense.

I can agree with you there. To me, with all the senseless remakes and PG-13 aimed-for-teens horror shit, they might as well start a new subgenre: "Teeny-popper horror." I also think Prom Night's success could be attributed to the fact that proms, in general, are just around the corner or just starting up.

Yeah, I just found out. :(

I know it's on DVD as a double feature with "Fade To Black". If you write to Netflix, they are pretty good about adding stuff (Thanks Fright).
As for this remake....it'll probably be pg-13, which sucks because the original is awesome. It's very slow at first, but once it kicks in, it really kicks in and doesn't stop until the last shot.
