Nice. I was hoping a good director would get ahold of this, and I think Gore is good with the atmosphere. After The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean I think he will do this Justice. Can't wait to see one of the Big Daddys on screen.

I have never played the game. But I do like Verbinski's work for the most part.

I only played the game for 10 mins. My x box fucked up and when i sent it back to be repaired i stupidly left the game in it. Needless to say it did not come back!

GV will make it good. I know nothing about the game and I didn't care for his Pirates movies, but it will be good.

Big task to undertake. At least this time, they have someone that has the potential to pull it off. We'll see where it ends up... classic or bargin bin.

Not a huge fan of Gore Verbinski, but I do think he has the talent to pull this off. The most important thing other than than translating the fantastic story is recreating the mood and atmosphere the games have, otherwise it won't be too special.

Which is where Hollywood fails alot, any Asian horror remake being fine example. Too few in Hollywood actually grasp the concept that atmosphere is a character needing development in Horror films. As I said before, there is potential... we'll see if they drop the ball.
