I have a vintage, '80 re-release TCM poster in pretty good shape ("B" shape) that's signed by Gunnar Hansen. I'm going to put it on eBay if I don't sell it here, but I figured I would offer it to UHMers first.

I personally got the poster signed (though it doesn't say my name, it just says "Gunnar Hansen") at the 2004 Chiller Convention outside NYC. I think I paid something like $20 just to have him scrawl his name across the poster.

Selling it for $100 to one of you mofos. The poster cost me something like $75 in 2003 and the sig cost another $20, so I'm only looking to bank $5. There's no "Certificate of Authenticity" because, like I said, I had him sign it in person. I have no reason to BS any of ya'll on it's authenticity though; it's the real deal.

The poster itself has pinholes in it (from the previous owner), but I've had it stored away since it was signed in '03. It's folded, as all posters back then were.

I figure I just don't need some of my old posters so I'm getting rid of them. The ones I want to keep I already have framed and on the wall, so everything else is just hanging around.

I also have these available:

The Exorcist, original one sheet, "B" shape, $50
Silent Night, Evil Night (aka Black Christmas), "B" shape, $50 (2 of these)
Halloween II, original one sheet, signed by Dick Warlock and Pamela Susan Shoop, "A-" shape, $100 (also signed at Chiller 2004)
Friday the 13th, original one sheet, "A" shape, $75
A bunch of Friday the 13th sequel one sheets

I also have an Oliva Hussey and Leonard Whiting signed 8X10 photo from "Romeo and Juliet" (also signed at Chiller by Olivia; it was pre-signed by Whiting before the convention). This is rare and numbered, as Olivia told me at the time that they had only prepared something like a few hundred (I'll get the exact number at home later, I believe it says it on the photo). $75 obo

I have some other posters and stuff too, but I'm at work right now and I can't remember off the top of my head. I'll get them on here later.

Again, this is just to give some of ya'll first dibs. If no one wants anything that's fine, I'll throw em up on eBay later this week.

As for the sigs - once again, I just want to promise their authenticity. People who've been at UHM for a while know I've gone out of my way in the past to hook people up with posters and other memorabilia, sometimes for free (the Halloween Resurrection one sheets and film stills). I have no reason to BS any of ya'll now.

These aren't on eBay...I wanted to offer them all up to you folks first.

I definitely think these prices a pretty reasonable too. I'm not looking to get rich on any of these, just mostly looking to get minimum value back.

I'll let you in on a little secret when it comes to collecting movie posters...

If you have the choice....ALWAYS buy from eBay, and not vendor Web sites. ALWAYS. Even counting when you get ripped off on eBay, it's rare, 9 out of 10 times you're getting a legit product. Lets say you buy 10 rare one sheets for $50 each on eBay. You've spent $500 and chances are they're all legit (most people won't risk selling shit on eBay). You'd be lucky to get three of those posters for $500 from a vendor's site. So even if you get ripped off on one from eBay, you're still out only $50 as opposed to paying $200 more for the same poster just to assure yourself that you got the right product.

Also, where do you think these vendors get their posters? eBay. Check out the forums at moviepostertalk.com. They all do it. They buy them and mark them up sometimes 10x their actual value.

That's the biggest reason I don't want to sell these on eBay before I offer them to ya'll. I know some scum bag vendors are going to buy them under value and sell them for way more than they should. I'd bet you anything the Friday the 13th poster would go for more than $100 on those vendor sites (see edit...I found one for $295).

So the moral of the story is while you DO get ripped off on eBay sometimes (we all do), you should always buy from eBay rather than actual vendor Web sites. You can get the same product for wayyyyy cheaper 99.9% of the time. If you want to see someone who rips people off galore, go to idave.com. Dude marks his posters up sometimes by 1000% or more from what he paid for them.

Basically, what I'm selling really is just me trying to dump the posters...I'm just tired of having them around. I just wanna make my cash back.

Edit: Here's the same Friday the 13th poster I'm selling, in the same condition, on idave.com:

FRIDAY THE 13th movie poster film poster one sheet
1980
US 1 One Sheet Original Movie Poster 27x41 Folded NM C9 $295.00 Special Order
The original classic horror/slasher flick that spawned 9 (and counting) sequels and introduced us to the lovable character "Jason".

The guy is a rip off, and most of them are like that. See how it says "Special Order"? He means "I'll find it on eBay and mark it up then sell it to you." Believe me; always take your chances on eBay if that means avoiding those dudes.

Ha, I just saw he has an original Halloween for $295. I bought mine for $75 on eBay. He also has what's called a "Blue Ratings Box" version, which was from the very first, limited screen release. I had one (sold it), that I bought for $80.

What a jackoff.
