Are blu ray dvds so damn expensive?
I get it, people want them, there in demand, and people are buying them, so they blow the price way the hell up. Your getting more for your money.
But it doesnt make sense to me, these dvds obviously dont cost that much to produce so there making a crap load.
But I just dont see the justification in $35 a dvd just for a better quality, it's the same movie yet it cost more cause you can see the pores on someones face.
Any idea when these movies might decline in price? after all HD is becoming more and more wide range which should bring prices down, movies 4 years old are over $20 and that's definitley weak.

I agree with you there. This is why I haven't upgraded to blu-ray because it's so god damn expensive the players and the dvd's both. I'll stick to my awesome upconverter for now and buy dvd's for like 5 bucks. So for now Fuck blu-ray.

Blu-ray discs are more expensive to produce then DVD's, which is why they cost more. I remember DVD's were around $30 each when they first came out in the mid-late 90's. It's like that with all new technology, once they can start producing it cheaper the prices for the consumer will eventually come down.

Just like hackerslacker said. New technology is expensive. DVDs were the same way when they came out, so this is nothing new. keep an eye out for sales like Best Buys 2 for 30 online sale this week, and youll be spending the same you would on new release dvds.

Try Blu-ray.com. They got alot of movies from $19.95 to $25.00 depending on if there are newer or not. So far that's the cheapest I've seen. Forget FYE store. All there movies are like $35.00. Fuck that. Or shop around on ebay and I Offer.com
Sometimes BestBuy has deals but not too often.

just wait for deals
i saw some jerk ass walk in and buy predator at target the other day... i mean...honestly
only a douche would spend 45 bucks on predator..., who the fuck would pay 45 bucks for a movie so old and with a shitty video transfer.
read reviews at bluray.com and rent from blockbuster, buy the gems and then make sure you hold on to them because it will be the last hard media copy released....expect for the 20 special editions to follow this year :dsp:

every few months, deep discount, J+R, and I think buy.com have all of the anchor bay movies (dawn/day of the dead, evil dead 2, halloween, MoH season 1) for under 12$.

As soon as the price does down for Blu-rays (which might be awhile) I'll upgrade to Blu-ray. Until then, standard DVDs will have to suffice.
