Shia Madness
Indy V to revolve around Mutt?
by Orlando Parfitt, IGN UK
UK, May 19, 2008 - Journos from across the world have been interviewing the stars of Indy IV today in Cannes, with several of the key players letting slip there may be further whip-crackery in the future, though with less of the titular archeologist himself.

Firstly, speaking to Fox News, George Lucas commented, "I haven't even told Steven [Spielberg] or Harrison this but I have an idea to make Shia LaBeouf (who plays Mutt) the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). I can see it working out."

Harrison Ford, in a conversation with MTV, was also questioned about potentially being the supporting character next time round. "I have no cheeky answer for [that]. I just work here. I'm glad to work here," he said. "Till they tell me otherwise, I will continue to be Indiana Jones."

LaBaouf meanwhile added fuel to the fire, saying, "I know Harrison would love to [continue]. Is there going to be an 80-year-old Indiana Jones? No one can say never." The Transformers star continued: "Mutt's pretty wild [but] it's all about what the public feels. I know if it's received well, that's a pretty definite indicator. If it's received well, I don't imagine they would stop making them."

Just like Lucas to fuck up another franchise.
Insted of LaBeouf they should have brought Short Round back.

I hope thats not the case, I havent seen it yet so i dont know how strong Mutt is, but if I know LaBeouf as an actor... i dont think he could carry a film like Indiana Jones.

Ah well at least we are getting one true squeal out of this.

Do I think Shia is a good actor? Yes. Do I think he could carry a flick under the shadow of Indiana Jones? Hell no (not that many could). But I do agree with Dark Joker, I'd totally watch a short round movie.

This is just my opinion now.........be kind I think he could carry on the genre of Indiana Jones, I think this is a good concept. Harrison Ford IS awesome but he's getting older and I like to see younger guys and Shia is a great actor..........ok now , rip on me, but be kind..........:ladiez:

I don't mind Shia, though I agree he needs a name change in the film.

Hmmm like most of you I do think Shia is a good actor, but I do not think he'd be able to carry on a franchise this big. but we'll see thursday I suppose. Still I think Shia should stick to being the main character in Transformers and make that HIS movie franchise since he doesn't have gigantic shoes to fill.

But I would love to see 1 more Indy film, because I'm afraid this one is going to have way too much CG, so the next they could tone it down, and I'd rather see them kill off Indy then carry it on with Shia :( because either way an Indy film without Indiana as the main character is a dumb idea.

I really want to fly to Skywalker ranch and beat the Hell out of George Lucas with one of those $100 electronic lightsabers, he lost his touch to make great films A LONG time ago and should just pass the torch. (I like to new Star Wars movies, but they dont live up to the originals)
