My GF and I just finished another great South Korean television series. This time it's a 16-episode romance-comedy called Couple or Trouble, or sometimes referred to as Fantastic Couple. This is actually a remake of the 1987 Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell film Overboard, which I remember really enjoying as a kid. I thought, if I liked the movie, maybe I'd like a series version. This series turned out to be MUCH better than the movie, but of course, there's a lot of extra room for storytelling and South Korean cinema (I've learned) are great at storytelling.

Much like the movie, we follow a stuck-up rich bitch, who everyone (including her husband) hates. After falling into the ocean, she awakens in a strange hospital with no recollection of who she is. Her husband assumes she's dead, and the man whom she had a scuffle with a few times before her accident, decides to take her under his wing as payment for the money he lost from their interactions earlier on. Eventually (much like the movie) the humble life she learns to live grows on her and she also begins to have feelings for this man, whom she once thought to be an enemy, but of course, with no memory of her past, she has no idea.

Great series! Good comedy, and excellent character development (as usual). Really liked the love/hate relationship of the two leads, and you really feel for what they go through in certain situations. Lead chick is smokin' hot and speaks surprisingly good English. If you liked the film Overboard and have grown a taste for South Korean cinema, I'd recommend seeking this series out.
