I saw the movie Death Note the other day and after that they will talking about a next one called Death Note: The last name. I am wondering when it's coming out? If you guys have any more information. By the way the movie kick ass.

It's already out. Been out for awhile actually.

Just hasn't been released in the States.

I own the japanese DVD of The Last Name. I love them both.

I own them both, they got an Australian release. First one was pretty bad, the sequel was much better I thought.

There's actually a 3rd film being made which revolves around L, it's called: Death Note: L Change the World (2008) (http://www.crunchyroll.com/media-231594/Movie-Trailers-Death-Note-L-Change-the-World-2008-Ver-2.html)

You're probably talking about when is it coming to limited theaters, much like the first. I'm not quite sure, but it shouldn't be long since it's already completed and has been out for quite some time. Both great films.

Yeah, I saw the English dub at the theatres. Kinda disappointing at the end. That's why I'm really hoping they release the second one.

Eh, I really can't stand anime anything anymore, all these little kids ruined it for me and now most of it seems extremely stupid to me, I wanted to give Death Note a chance, but its just another show/movie/manga I cant stand. I'd much rather see a live action Gundam movie that doesnt completely suck ass. But back to my point, not much in anime impresses me anymore, but SOMETIMES theres a show or two I like.

How does a little kid ruin an anime?

Anyways. Pretty disappointed in both Death Note movies, neither one were particularly good in terms of story, acting or adapting the characters for live action.

I wish I had seen the anime prior to the movies. I tried watching the series after both movies and I just couldn't get into it. I basically already knew what was going to happen, and felt like there were just too many scenes of dialogue. I'm sure if I saw the anime first then I would be intrigued from the beginning. :(

No doubt. It was the reverse effect for me, since I had already seen the anime I knew what was going to happen. They did add some changes to the story and the characters but in the end not enough to help make the movies exciting. I'll just stick with the anime, even though I stopped watching it when Light gave up the Death Note.
