after the shitfest that was part 3 I think this is welcome, although its just a rumor. I wouldn't mind them going in a completely different direction all together.

They need to pull a Hulk and redo the whole series.

This would be a huge mistake. Although 3 was the weakest, it was still good...and it's a great trilogy. If they plan to do more, they need to pull a Maguire\Dunst\Raimi trifecta or bust.

well, Carnage is the next logical villain, then maybe Kraven. but all the loose ends have been tied up, so there's no need for more movies. Marvel's focus should go into the Avengers' movies, rather than recycling an old series.

Avengers would be sweet.

I wonder what Sam thinks of Spider-man 3

he probably lies to himself. They totally screwed the venom character. He was nothing like he was supposed to be, and Goblin 2 looked like an X-games reject.
The black suit spiderman was done pretty good, but peter himself under the influence of the symbiote was just stupid, its like they just didn't take it seriously at all with that. He's walkin around dancin and snappin his fingers like an idiot.
Now don't get me wrong I dug the first one. Willam Dafoe was a perfect goblin although I don't think they should have covered him up like a power ranger, and I really loved the second one. But the ending things on a crappy note. Venom is one of my favorite Spider-Man characters and they just ruined it. The black suit storyline could have been something great too.

Leave the failing series be... Cannot recover from making Venom out of a stickboy from That 70s Show...

I agree with reinventing the series like the Hulk. I never really was able to get into Spiderman or Tobey Maquire (sp?) playing him to begin with. I noticed Venom was going to be in the 3rd film and Venom has always been next to the Joker my favorite Villain, and so I decided to see the movie and I was completely disgusted. So I welcome a new fresh take on things but picking up where the other 3 left off imo won't work that well.

I liked Macguire as spider-man, but I can see him (as well as Raimi and others) being tired of it after the last 7 years. Three was too dopey, and there is no doubt the studio wants to keep making spider-man flicks so if they go the James Bond route and constantly change him it's no big deal to me.

I also hate Kirsten Dunst as MJ. They need to replace her, MJ is supposed to be a firecracker with an attitude. Not a damsel in distress every time you turn around.

At least a few Bonds were decent. More likely they'll go the Batman route and screw it up further with every new face (except batman begins/dark knight).

3 was no doubt the weakest but to blame Tobey would be a mistake.
The script and the Director thinking that the finished product was an epic movie, was the mistake.
If they do a 4th, I'd hope they bring back Tobey. Dunst is a toss up. I dont care one way or another if they do. I didnt have a problem with her, the studios obviously tweaked the character alittle bit because she was always going to be a target for the villians in the movies.
All in all, I'd say bring a 4th but make it along the lines of the first and 2.

The 2nd one is my favorite just because of the well written dialogue. 1 was kinda boring and 3 was shit.

The whole series was crap with part two being the least smelly.
Tobey looked alright for the part, but his voice is awful. Especially for a Superhero.
I'm up for a reboot. Make him cry less and kick more bad guy ass.

I don't really care for another one. The first 2 were good. The third was a big let down.

I loved the first two, but the third was just a disapointment. Logically, why would anyone try and fit that many storylines into one movie? It's retarded. I don't know what was more disapointing, the fact that he only had one battle in the black suit, or that venom was...... well pretty much all of venom sucked in that movie.
