This is a thread where you can recommend some not so popular horror movies for people to watch. Post some info on the movie like the www.imdb.com link or give us a pic or something random. :coolbeer:

I recommend The Long Island Cannibal Massacre:

A series of horrible murders prompts a massive police investigation. Inspector James Cameron (John Smihula), a two-fisted roughneck with his own philosophy on handling crime, heads the investigation. A group of lepers living in the Long Island wastelands have created a terror network, killing and feeding off the flesh of innocent victims. Their leader (Winston B. Anderson III) has mutated into an invulnerable monster; he intends to propagate and strengthen his stronghold. Aided by his son, Jack (Fred Borges), and a couple of motorcycle freaks, food is supplied to the clan via murder. As the authorities close in on the cannibal killers, an all-out bloodbath ensues.

Worth a buy imo, but kinda hard to find.

The Beast Must Die

Tom Newcliffe, a rich businessman and expert hunter summons six guests to his huge country estate which he has rigged up with video cameras and a high-tech security system. He tells them and his surprised wife that they are all to stay over a weekend and that all of them will be kept on the estate during that weekend. For each guest, dead bodies have followed in their wake and the way that the dead have been murdered means that one of the guest is a werewolf and Tom has summoned his guests here to discover who it is and to hunt it down... The film has a clip at the beginning asking people in the audience to try to identify the werewolf and near the end there is a 30-second "Werewolf Break" for the audience to think over the evidence...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071200/

I love this movie. It's more of a detective story than a werewolf story. You don't see the werewolf alot, and when you do, it's nothing impressive, but it doesn't need to be. It's all about figuring out who the werewolf is.

----------------------------

Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo

A duo of gun happy redneck hunters stupidly break a sacred circle in a hunting spree, which releases the deadly wendigo. The wendigo kills many of the hunters gruesomely, leaving the chosen woman and a gun toting idiot to destroy the deadly beast.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116371/

As far as a Troma version of Evil Dead (kinda) with rednecks and big cheesy stop motion monsters and chili monsters go, this is a fun trip.

----------------------------

I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle

When a motorbike gang kills an occultist, the evil spirit he was summoning inhabits a damaged bike. The bike is then bought and restored, but reveals its true nature when it tries to exact vengance on the gang, and anyone else who gets in its way.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097550/

Good ol' British fun. Neil Morrissey is a great actor too, I love him in this, just as much as I love him in Men Behaving Badly.

----------------------------

Monster Dog

Alice Cooper plays a pop star who takes his band to his hometown to shoot his latest video. They are greeted by the sheriff (whom he's known since a kid) that warn him that there's been several murders in the area where the bodies were ripped to shreds. The police think it's a pack of wild dogs, but Alice knows differnt.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087616/

Any movie with a dubbed Alice Cooper and werewolves is okay with me. And hey, the dubbing is actually pretty good.

----------------------------

Thriller: A Cruel Picture

Frigga is a young woman who was raped by a stranger as a child. Suffering from shock from this incident, she becomes a mute. One day, she heads to town to visit a highly qualified doctor about her condition. However, she misses the bus. A seemingly nice gentleman offers her a ride into town and has dinner with her, but she is drugged and is intentionally hooked onto heroine in order for the man to control her. She is forced to work in his brothel, but is given Mondays off, and she is given heroine daily, as to keep her coming back to the brothel for a supply. The pimp also forges a letter that is sent to her parents, which cruelly explains away her disappearance as abandonment. Her parents kill themselves in grief. After learning of her parents death, Frigga uses her Mondays off in order to train in martial arts, sharp-shooting, and driving, in order for her to take revenge on those who have wronged her.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072285/

Probably my favorite Swedish movie, and one of my favorite exploitation movies.

----------------------------

The Ugly

Simon is a confessed serial killer who spent the last five years in a mental hospital because of his state. Dr.Karen Shoemaker wants to get through to him and starts visiting him in the hospital, and his previous life comes to us in flashbacks.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120401/

This is a very overlooked psychological horror/thriller that kept me interested from the beginning.

Lunch Meat (1987) starring Ashlyn Gere a porn star under the name of Kim McKamy. It's a very TCM story following a bunch of teens who stop at a burger joint on a trip and are tricked into the woods by a bunch of cannibalistic rednecks. Turns out they own the burger joint and are serving up human flesh to the public. I don't remember much about this film except for a fat girl getting her head chopped off and a bloddy girl in the top of a tree. It's very hard to find because it is an out of print VHS, but one day I will eventually get my hands on it.

I have to recommend The Spanish film called Tesis. It's basically about a student who views a snuff tape while doing a thesis on violence in the media. She shows it to another student who recognizes the girl in the video tape as a former student that had disappeared several years ago. Then these two end up digging in too deep and end up in deep shit danger. Anyways, this is definitely on of the most interesting and suspenseful horror/thrillers I've ever seen. highly recommended.

This ones worth a watch:

The Driller Killer (1979)

An artist slowly loses his mind as he and his two female friends scrape to pay the bills. The punk band downstairs increasingly agitates him, his art dealer is demanding that he complete his big canvas painting as promised, and he gets into fights with his girlfriends. When the dealer laughs at his canvas he snaps, and begins taking it out on the people responsible for his pain and random transients in the manner suggested by the title.

Man dead breed just can't stop lying. Cheating in the horror pic thread, cheating in the movie draft games and now he's pushing movies he's obviously never even seen before.

First off all, anybody who openly tells someone to buy a Nathan Schiff movie, let alone tells you to watch one cause they're good has never actually watched his movies. I've seen just about everything he has, including his "lost" movie Vermillion and I can say he's stuff is pretty close to being unwatchable.

Secondly, as King already so kindly put it, Driller Killer is not a good recommendation either. Hell I've had that movie for over a year now and I still have not finished it, I've made it through about 15 minutes at that's about all I can stand.

And Long Island Cannibal Massacre is only hard to find if you're a fucking idiot who doesn't know how to use the internet.

The Town that Dreaded Sundown was on this thread and since I picked up a bootleg last week I decided to check it out.

I thought it was entertaining the comic relief was not funny and unnecessary. The kills (the few there were) were ok with only one good one standing out in my mind. The killer was creepy yet seemed to lack something.

I can appreciate the significance of how early this movie was in the slasher genre but IMO it's over rated. Stick with Black X-mas.

I know what you mean, but the trombone scene is pretty twisted and the sack mask is creepy and obviously the inspiration for Jason in Friday Part 2, and also it was a made for TV movie so the gore is tame, still rather dark subject matter for a tv movie.

Mulberry Street was a pleasant surprise when I rented it a few months ago.

I was expecting cheese, but it turned out to be a pretty character driven zombie/rat people movie. A bunch of people in a new york apartment building basically try to survive as a disease spreads that turns people into rat monsters. I know, it sounds dumb, but it was actually pretty good. It's also one of the few good After Dark movies.
