152 min?? If it is as good as Batman Begins that's fine with me.

Long Knight Ahead
Running time for Dark Knight revealed?
by Jim Vejvoda
June 13, 2008 - With the release of The Dark Knight now just a month away, word has filtered out online about the running time of the Christopher Nolan-directed sequel to Batman Begins and it is reportedly of epic length.
Hollywood Elsewhere columnist Jeffrey Wells claims to have spoken with a "non-USA exhibition source" who advised him that the Dark Knight's running time was 152 minutes. Batman Begins ran 140 minutes.
Online chatter is already griping that the film is too long.

2hrs and 32 minutes is definitely enough time to tell this big a story. I'd see this if it was 3 hrs long.

This is great. I complain a lot about movies NOT having enough time to tell the story. 2 and half hours should be enough I would be just as excited if it was 3 or 4 hours long. Means a lot of story to tell and it's not being all cramped together.

People should probably learn to outgrow their short attention spans.

People should probably learn to outgrow their short attention spans. Not necessarily. Have to see the finished product to be sure, but this could just as easily be a case of the filmmakers not doing their job in the editing room.
They're working on a dead star's last picture; there's a very legitimate concern that "we can't cut THIS"-type baggage may be overriding common sense.

If the running length is the best way to tell a good, entertaining Batman story, then let's go for 2:32. That's cool. There will probably be a wait of years until the next movie. The extra half hour would honestly be kind of nice in that regard.
We have at least two villains to deal with, with a lot of talk about Ras coming back too. Remember how rushed Venom felt in Spider-Man 3? It may be better to add a little length to this one.
If Ledger did well as the Joker then, by all means, show that off too.
I will only think the run time is a bad idea if the movie sucks or if the extra time focuses on Bruce Wayne moping around.

There's a ton of stuff that has to go in this movie and if people can sit through Batman Begins, 12 minutes shouldn't be killing them.

yeah I'll rephrase thats. Nolans version of Batman couldn't be to long. Those other Adam West wanna be movies were to long 30 seconds into them.

I don't know. Nolan could have shown us that flashback of young Bruce Wayne falling into the well only twelve times instead of 13.
There was room to cut Begins down too. :shakehead

as long as it adds to the story and doesnt feel rushed I'll be happy, I'd much rather go see 2, 3, and even 4 hour movies, makes me feel like I'm getting my money's worth out of a movie if its long.

As long as a movie is good I don't care if it runs over 3 hrs long. If it's a good movie then the longer the better I say.

comic books fall victim to it too. Add a lot of stuff then the last issue comes along and it feels extremely rushed so they can end it.

Good pacing and editing is an important part of filmmaking. The creative team behind a picture forgets that at their own peril.
