if this was gonna happen regardless and they were going to replace Russell? Brolin wouldn't be a bad choice.

Brolin could work. He surprised me in No Country For Old Men.

Agreed, he's not a bad actor and I loved his performance in No Country For Old Men.

I hate to say it, but I could really see Brolin fitting the part.

This movie definitely needs a remake and Brolin is definitely the man to do it I think :D He's bad ass man. Planet Terror and No Country For Old Men he did great. The special effects were TERRIBLE on the first one haha but what can you expect from a movie that old. Definitely looking forward to this remake

Id rather see Brolin then Gerard Butler who was originaly attatched. Everbody mentions No Country which he was great in, but I thought he played a good role as a corrupt cop in American Gangster. You can see hints of darkness in his characters in Grindhouse/American Gangster, so this could work

I love the original and the effects honestly dont feel that dated to me. However its going to happen no matter how much i dislike it... so i am all for Brolin he will do a great job i am sure. We just need a good director though.

It doesn't need to be remade but then again most of the remakes were unnecessary to begin with so.... Good choice in Brolin but it all depends on who's directing and what direction they wish to take this remake.

Haha I'm not knocking the movie at all :p I think its a classic too. I'd just like to see a better special effects version. Kurt Russel was the PERFECT Plissken. I'd just really like to see Brolin give it a try :D I completely forgot he was in American Gangster! I only saw it once but damn he did do a really good job in that as well. Fuck Brett Ratner.

I dont understand why people think this movie needs better special effects. What in the original was so bad that new technology would make the scene better.......maybe we need Plissken swinging from vines or going over waterfalls unharmed.
