The Ruins

Not a bad flick. Interesting and gory at times. Had a couple plot-holes though:

It's obvious the locals would kill without thinking twice, so I thought it was a bit silly how they decided to simply quarantine them instead of just killing them.

When they discover they are afraid of being touched by the veins, I figured they'd start hurling balls of the stuff at the locals. Even if they tried to get shots at'em, the temple would have given them a lot of cover, being that they're so high up.

Although it would have been dangerous, I figured they would have at least tried to set some of the veins or plants on fire.

Other than that, I liked it. Should have a review soon.

Its was alright but i saw the trailer for the strangers for the first time when i saw this flick and the strangers trailer was better then the movie imo lol others in the theather thought so as well

I enjoyed this movie. Nice to see something different than the same rehashed crap (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482606/)thats been getting shoved down our throats lately.

It had potential and did ok... could have done alot more with it, but its above a Sci-fi original overall. I give it points for trying to be different in the age of 'remakes'.

I know becuase when i saw the ruins a few weeks after it was already out at a late show there was like only 15 people in the theater and everybody was talking about how scary the strangers trailer was over the movie we we're actually watching

It was after people just saying they couldnt wait to see it and such. Dont get me wrong im not hating on the ruins it did have some pretty good scenes. But when people left they were talking more about the strangers trailer thats all

Haha probably but I liked it a lot :D Nothing new, Cliche' filled but I miss those type of movies man! Had a very 80's slasher feel to it and I like that a lot :) and the theater was jumping like a mother fucker haha good times.

I'm pretty surprised at all the postive comments about The Ruins. I had a couple friends tell me about how horrible it was and that stopped me from seeing it haha now I'm definitely going to rent the BD when it comes out. Now I'm going to watch it with a positive mindset. Before I was going to watch it with a VERY negative mindset but thanks to you guys I'm going into it with some hope for it being good :)

Well when i went to see the ruins i didnt really know what to expect because i had never read the book. I guess i was expecting something other then what it was. It wasnt horrible tho worst movies ive seen this year were the remakes- prom night, one missed call, the eye, and shutter.
