I played peewee football back in 95 for one season. In a way, it was fun but in a way it wasnt. My town is a big football town from top to bottom, peewee to highschool, etc. So there was always alot of pressure, I always felt like there was too much emphasis on berading kids rather than just allowing them to have fun.
I played offensive and defensive tackle. I wasnt very big just like im not today. I max out maybe 5'6-5'7. There was this one time during practice. We were in blocking drills and we had a girl on our team. She was built like a brick wall. We went one and one and that bitch hit me so hard. After we were done with those drills I went home, wasnt sure if it was a concussion or just the wind knocked outta me. Whatever it was, that bitch could hit for sure. I dont think she played beyond Peewees though because as the years went on. I knew most of the kids on the team and I never saw her on the team again.
In hindsight, I wish I had played longer. I had contemplated getting back into it again the next year but I never went through with it.
The other big sport I played when I was kid was bowling. I was in a league for about 4 years, pretty good times. I wasnt a great bowler but it was good fun. The problem over the years with that became that half the kids either missed games or just showed up whenever they felt like it. So that ended and thats basically the extent of the sports I played teamwise when I was younger.
I would always take a trail through the woods to watch baseball practice near my elementary school at the time, naturally at one point I thought about Baseball but I never went through with it. Basketball I was even closer to joining in HS. My friend kept egging me on to join but I never did.
Once you get to that level though in HS. Its all about politics, no different than anywhere else.

Soccer. I hated it so much, sometimes I would just sit on the field and not do anything.

Soccer was hella fun to play in gym IMO but I probably never would've joined my team. Our soccer team blew.

Before Middle School played...Played baseball, football, basketball, soccer.
Middle School - Played baseball, basketball
High school - Played one season of basketball and the rest Baseball
I love to play baseball, I didn't just play baseball for my high scool either, played Bath Ruth for 3 years... Was pretty good in baseball. I played Catcher. I wish that I could have kept playin', but instead of goin' to college, I went into the Military and got hurt. If I didn't go into the military probably would have played some college ball hopefully.

Damn that sucks. If you stayed catcher, you definitely probably would've made it atleast to the minors somewhere, maybe better.

I played peewees for a season but our team sucked and I didn't return the next season. We were 1-14 and the one win came from a forfeit. The only good thing to come from it was I lost a TON of weight and got into real good shape.
I played football for Pine Forest High Eagles in Pensacola we were ok but I was a slacker in high school and quit after the first season.
nothing else except the good ol' tackle football I played every sunday at the park with the whole neighborhood. That's more fun than any organized athletic sport.

CTK's football team sucked balls while I was there. We went 2-8 when I was a freshman,
3-7 as a sophmore, 1-9 as a junior, and 5-5 as a senior.
NYU = has no football team.
Did get in a few nice hits on these skinny little QB's in my time.

5-5 is pretty decent IMO and it was your last year so it ended on a good note.

Playing Rumble Fumble was some of the funnest shit ever. Throw the ball into the air, someone gets it and everyone tackles him if he cant make it to an endzone.
I used to play with everyone at work up until at few years ago on thanksgiving. Problem is people stopped showin up and they would've rather watch the HS rivalry game which is a blowout in our towns favor for years and years now.

Good point.
Although with Bradshaw, I guess a story just came out that he was on roids. He was still a tough guy though.

Tennis always seemed like it could be fun to play. We used to play the wiffleball version of tennis in gym which was basically a bigger sized version of ping pong ball which was fun.

Our wrestling team was pretty decent but it wasnt somethin I ever thought about getting into. I would imagine its gotta take a toll on the body even moreso than football IMO.
Track and Cross country were things I actually forgot about from time to time. At that time I wasnt in great, great shape so I probably would've quit somewhere along the lines.

I dont blame you. Politics in our HS were pretty heavy. If your father worked for the HS or was a teacher or a coach and he had a kid there. They would get pretty much whatever they wanted.
Never was fond of the preferential treatment that went on for our HS sports teams.

never really that as much for some reason I didn't want to try out for any, though quite a few times during my high school career I was suggested to try out for football, people on the coaching staff figured I'd make a good OL or DL, not to mention most time people meet me for the first time they assume i play football. But eh, i might play something in college, just have to start hitting the gym first...

Volleyball was always fun in gym. I used to love when they would play with this ball that was probably 4-5 times the size of a normal ball. Not sure what you would call it and we would try and attempt to hit it over the net.

Is Pocket Pool a sport?? :ahheh: Growing up my first love was baseball, started "pee-wee" league when I was 5 stoped playing when I was 13yrs. My postions were pitcher and first base, man those were the days. For some reason one day I woke up and basketball was my new love...as years past played basketball and football in school. Now that I look back I wish I would have stuck to baseball or should have gotten into boxing at a young age...Thanks for getting me depressed, where's my bottle of vodka?!
