This is an anime based off the Batman legacy, with various anime artists telling their takes on the legend. Watched it earlier and liked it. None of the stories are bad, as the even the weakest ones are an interesting watch. However, there were only two that I really liked, while the others were just decent. Check it if you're a fan of Batman or anime in general

The little promo in the margin of aintitcool.com has swayed me into seeing it, I hadn't even heard of this before. But yeah, it looks great.

I can think of two that he probably likes:

On the same boat as Fright with this one: 7/10
Some of the vinettes were really good, but only like two of them are really memorable.
Don't think you'd be disappointed w/ a blind buy though, Chief.

Rented it this morning. Haven't had time to watch it all -- I think I watched the first 5 parts.
Someone will hopefully never work again after animating that first segment. They made Batman look like an 80 year old man with a beer gut.

I only made it through the first 2 and a half before I got bored and gave up. Which angers me cuz I was REALLY looking forward to this.

I have only one complaint about these... they are too short. I really enjoyed them and found it to be a nice present to hold me off till Dark Knight is out. I couldnt have asked for a much nicer package. The special feaures are pretty sweet as well, including like five episodes of the original animated series.
Worth a blind buy a hundred times over.

got it as a gift, need to sit down and watch it sometime.
I rented this just because I love anything Batman. Before long I remembered that I can't stand anime and shut it off midway into the second story.
Kudos to those of you who like it because you have great tolerance for such a mundane, boring and sucky genre.

I hate anime, but I thought this was pretty good. Love the first story.

First two stories are weak, I found those urban kids talking about batman very annoying...or "whack", but after that I enjoyed it. Last two stories were the best.

Like the Animatrix before it, it was decent and worth a watch. However, like the Animatrix, I am glad I did not pay full price for it.

Got this today and overall, I liked it. My favorite story was "Deadshot", because I thought it had the best animation and story. But I do have complaints.
-This should have been a feature length movie. The stories were too short. It was like reading a 5 page comic book, as soon as the stories got good, they ended.
-This should have had American artists. The lip-sync was way off in the third story and it seemed weird to see a Japanese version of Batman.
-Only one animation team. It was weird enough seeing Conroy as a Japanese Batman, but 6 different Batmans was too much. They even changed the fucking Batmobile. "Field Test" had a Tumbler-esqe car, but "Working Through Pain" had an obvious Burton-mobile design. I'd hate to think that Fox gave Alfred his own set of Bat wheels for his crusin'.

Agreed.
You'll never beat the 90's Batman cartoon. :rocker:
