The title pretty much says it all. In your 'opinion' who is the best player in the league today. The two most obvious choices for me are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, one could argue LT aswell. Although i've never been impressed with Ladanian.

Think I have to go with Peyton. I did think Brady, but the scandle and the no show at the ProBowl changed my opinion slightly :sure:

As much as I'm going to get booos, I'm a Boston boy and do believe Brady is the best player in the game today.

Randy or TO

The two guys when healthy and catching the ball you have to plan defenses around stopping them or containing them or you have to have a great 4 man rush that can get to a QB without blitzing. See this years past Superbowl for that example.

As much as I think Brady made Randy better, I think Randy made Brady better so it went both ways. Likewise with Romo/TO. Randy is the better ball handler but not as physical whereas TO is much more physical but his hands arent as good.

I think Steve Smith is the best WR, because he makes thing happen even with Delhomme.

Delhomme is pretty underrated when healthy. Key being when healthy.

He isnt great but isnt the worst QB in that division. Steve Smith does make that offense much much better though.

I bet Smith coulda got a record if he played on Indy or NE, just saying..

Agreed.

That game against the Hawks afew years ago wasnt the best of days for Delhomme.

Delhomme isn't a bad quarterback either. Tired of everyone saying he isn't that good. After his elbow surgery, they say his arm is stronger now than it's ever been. But just a fun little fact, Delhomme started the first 3 games last season before he had surgery and in those 3 games he had 8 TD passes and 1 INT, but those 8 TDs were more than any of the other Panthers QB's that season. They went through about 4 of em. Matt Moore isn't a bad QB either.

But Smith is the best player in NFL IMO. There was a play last year against the Texans where Smith caught a pass across the middle and 5 defenders wrapped him up and he spun away and took it for a TD... I was speechless. Very few people could do that. Panthers are loaded on offense this year.

In case anyone is wondering, yes I am a Panthers fan.

I agree fully. Delhomme is a mediocre quarterback at best and Steve Smith makes it work. Plus he's pretty small for a pro reciever. I'm biased though because Carolina has been my favorite team since the expansion.

the best player int eh nfl cant be a quarterback...maybe if it was Mick vick, only because hes so athletic..
the best player has to be the most athletic..last time i checked tom brady or peyton manning were slow as fuck, and could never play any other position...there still pretty fuckin good qbs though but that dont make em the best players in the nfl..

id prolly say hines ward or some shit...basicly anyone that can play multiple positions...

It could be argued that the quarterback position is the most complex and important of all positions and requires a great deal of intelligence to be successful.

I don't think athleticism is a very good indicator of a good *football player* at all.

I'll redo it by position

QB - Eli Manning
RB - AD for now
WR - TO
TE - Gonzalez
FB - Anderson

DB - Bailey
S - Reed

ILB - Pierce
OLB - Carpenter

DE - Taylor
DT - Tuck

That is just a poor way to decipher who the best player in the NFL is. Nevermind the fact that Vick was one of the most inaccurate QBs, he's athletic! He must be the best :shakehead

You, my friend, are a very, very smart person. Same with you Slasherman. Carolina kicks ass. :coolbeer:

I've definitely got to agree that Steve Smith is definitely bad ass.

And I don't think Delhomme is a bad quarterback, either.

Yea, I dont agree with this.

I just think Randy showed how good Brady really is when he has a WR of great talent to play with and open up the game for not only Brady but for other WR on the field, sure he makes it easier for Brady, but I still think Brady had it all to begin with.

There use to be this debate among NFL fans, who was better, Brady or Manning, Manning always had the media attention since his college days and has had hall of fame talent with him since day one, while Brady couldn't even get into the same conversation as to who was better until he had two superbowls, then he had 3 and it was a legit debate that could be more then biased fans like my self and other NE to talk about.

Us New Englanders always would say, give Brady the talent Manning got to work with, and he would put up those numbers too, while Indy fans would say, put Manning on those Brady teams and he wins those SB too. Well, after last season combined with taking a team of no name WR the year before to the AFC title game I think most would say Brady is better between the two, has the mechanics, the game decisions and all that, he might not have the cannon arm or whatever but his success is speaking for it self.

And dont take anything out of this, I know you agree with almost everything I just said, I just wanted to point out that not only do I think Brady is the best player in the game right now but also that I dont think he is better because of Moss.

IMO of corse.

Manning is number 2.

And I dont know who is 3, but I will say LT been pissing me off with his me attitude and his crackily voice or whatever, I remember when they said he was the most modest player in the NFL, yea right.

you serious about Eli man? I actually kind of like him, but MVP of the SB was a sham, he had a terrible game, few dropped INT, didnt score into the 4th, his front 4 on D should of been MVP, but the marketing of the two mannings being mvps back to back was too much for the nfl to pass up on. You must be kidding though.

Peyton Manning getting MVP od SB XLI was a crock, Rhodes did the most. Eli out preformed him as far as SB's are concerned.
Hines Ward as MVP of XL is another joke, they couldn't make the worst QB in SB history MVP so they just gave one of them an award they didn't earn.

They have been making up there own shit for the past few years now and i'm not impressed :dsp:

Max Payne

yea, but had the pats won last year, brady would of won it for that final drive alone, and really he wouldn't have earnt it for anything else, sometimes, the best of the worse gets them.

but i agree with peyton, he got it to "solidify" his stature as a nfl great, he prolly could of got that damn thing had he thrown 4 int.

But right now hes a top 5 QB unless the Giants absolutely tank this coming season.
