you do what you can to please billion plus customers.
McD's isn't open to serve quality food, give jobs to the elderly and teens in your community, help out, etc and all the other BS they push. They're open to make money and that's the bottom line. Don't like it, don't eat it.
P.S. a crazy bum on a street corner advised me not to eat McDonald's because their burgers were made out of Bone Marrow. Just another reason to avoid them. This man also told me the reason he rides the bus is because once he went driving and got lost in outer space... true story.

“Supporting the host nation is one thing … and you’re spending a lot of money on the Games and it’s appreciated. But show your appreciation to the American athletes and don’t openly pander to China’s Olympic fervor. Remember: you are an American company. You were built here”
Isn't the irony thick when the conservs have to juggle their pro free market capitalist attitude with patriotism?

I'm fine with this. Seriously. I honestly smiled.
One of our beacons of Capitalism is putting another dent in China. And let's face it: Hamburglar speaks a language more universally appealing and accessible than Esperanto.
Edit, okay, so Fox News is taking cheap shots at open capitalism and people who might normally cry "Faux News" are openly agreeing with Fox News. I'm going to try to add some balance.

There. Now we can all eat and/or hate McDonald's as we were.

Funny the same billionaires who are crying foul at China are the same ones who have all their goods made there. Doesn't make what China does right by any means.....just adding it for the sake of conversation.

Fast food, as much as I wish I could eat it more :D, just has way too much fat in it and is insanely dangerous.

I had two double Quater-Pounder's w/ cheese earlier and I'm about to dig into a pint of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. :D
Hey I can get away with it, I work 50 hours a week and it's a very physically demanding job. Even with all the fatty foods I eat, I never gain any extra weight. :D

Damn straight, even though I haven't had fast food in the past 4 or 5 months. Once you check out nutrition for some of these joints you don't have much of an appetite for them anymore.

Had me a quad-stacker from BK tonight... had'em replace that rancid big mac-like sauce with bbq sauce though... fuckin' tasty...
As far as the whole McDonalds/China thing is concerned... big fuckin' deal... 90% of the big corps suck china's cock. If I tried to boycott every damn corp that is in bed with China, I'd have an empty house and no clothes. Believe me, what McDonald's is doing here in this issue is fucking menial compared to the wholesale butt-fucking that other big businesses are doing to this country in the way of fondling China's balls.

Oh and I usually get my quad stack with no sauce so it's just meat and cheese. But I'll have to try some bbq, sounds good.

Just killed a Six Dollar Western Bacon Burger from Carl's Jr. Bacon, onion rings, cheese and BBQ sauce on top of a massive slab of beef. Hands-down the unhealthiest burger known to science, and if there's life on another planet, I seriously doubt they have the technology to challenge this undisputed champion of cholesterol.
Oh, and you know I had to upgrade my drink and side order of fries to large.

China has been shifting rather peacefully from a frightening world power to a source of lots of money. If it took some Big Macs and Thundercats to make that happen then the world is better off.
The other options would have been cold war or just war.
You also forgot food, Warbeast. Ever walk down the toy aisle of your grocery store? Come to think of it, some of the groceries are suspect as well. Toothpaste and dog food come to mind.
And on that note, McDonald's is only getting them back. Just slower.

A billion and a half customers on the eve of the biggest event their country has seen. No way McDonald's--or most any other corp--doesn't play to the home crowd.

A source of lots of money for whom? All of our jobs are going over there.Thats a good thing? China is scarier now than they've ever been. Now they're getting rich, at least before they were backwards. They're still totalitarian, all these riches in the hands of dictators, thats good?

With the concurrent explosions of population and industry coupled with the full-bore environmental neglect demonstrated by the government, they could easily find their newfound riches swallowed by a systemic health crisis.
Cancer, birth defects, chronic lung afflictions...Rising China's outlook might not be all that rosy if they keep doing what they're doing.

Oh boy, the anti-corporate angle.
A source of money for concept artists, writers, marketers, and white collar workers.
A source of money for General Foods and Kellogg's, who are able to drop a cheap toy in a box of cereal to sell more food. A source of money for employees at General Foods and Kellogg's, who still have a job despite Malt-o brand selling below their prices.
A source of work for the graphic artists who package new boxes of Cheerios and Frosted Flakes every month or so to keep up with the newest trend.
A source of money to the board members who invested their own time and money into growing both companies and paying wages.
A source of work and money for internet developers on both sides of the border as China uses their money to become one of the most internet savvy countries on the planet (no matter what their government tries to do "for the good of the people"). Not just web pages -- there is an industry there.
And yes, a source of work for the mop boy at Toys R Us who one day aspires to suck on the world's largest bong. For the greasy guy in the beat up old truck who fills the gumball machines with cheap toys.
So, I've just covered everyone from the glorified paperboy sticking plastic eggs in the quarter machine to CEOs, in all kinds of careers from number crunchers to artists.
I'm not going to call this perfect -- it's just a hell of a lot nicer than another cold war.

oh boy, the justification argument. I gotta hand it to you pro-corporate types, when trying to justify sending our jobs over to feed a dictator you sure can reach.
Here's a nice little article illustrating the morals and ethics of our heros in the corporate world. (http://ihscslnews.org/view_article.php?id=163)
