I am to some degree, and to be perfectly honest, I don't know why. I guess it's the power of suggestion.

I won't work in a building on the 13th floor. (evn though most go from 12-14)
Won't walk underneath a ladder.
If a black cat crosses my path, for a second I'm pissed.
Feel funny if it's Friday the 13th.

Mirrors breaking, horse shoes and rabbit's feet for luck, and stepping on cracks on the sidewalk don't bother me.

Nope. In fact, I think a walked under a latter leaning on my house at least five times today while working outside. And then a day ago, I had a stray black cat walk in front of me. Nothing I would call bad luck happened.

I believe in Karma, but not really superstitious, hell when I was younger my family owned a black cat, and he was pretty much the best pet we had, he had a great little personality and was always fun to have around.

Not really not until post season baseball. When you're a Boston fan superstitions go hand in hand with the Red Sox. I have a Red Sox hat I bought at the beginning of the 04' season and we won the series that year so I always wear it when we play and I've never bought another one. My GF watched it once cuz she said it smelled and then we had I believe it was a 13 or 14 game losing streak and I was soooo pissed. Other than that nope.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I also have a black cat for a pet too. I've had him ever since he was a kitten, and he's 13 right now. Haha, wow, I just realized I have a black cat who's 13. That's enough to make a superstitious person shit themselves. But yeah, I've had him for that long, and he's a great cat. I grew up with him. I love him enough to consider him a good friend to me and a close member of the family. Sadly, I know he isn't going to be around my whole life, and I'm going to be crushed the day we lose him. Even my dad, one of the toughest people I know, and the one person many people know not to fuck with when he's angry, is going to be extremely crushed when that day comes. Growing up with a black cat like this kills any superstition you have in you.

Let's just say too many unfortunate events have occurred in my life to make me, eh, superstitious to an extent.

I have a real rabbit's foot that I take with me whenever it's Friday the 13th. I often stay clear of the number 13 or 666. I don't break mirrors. I knock on wood. I don't pick up pennies I find at night. Hmm, I think that's it.

Us Asians have a lot of superstitions. Well, at least us Filipinos do. We shouldn't deal with monetary things at night. We shouldn't shower in a house where someone has recently died. We shouldn't buy a house near a cemetery. When moving into a new house, the first thing we should bring in is the rice.

as for black cats i have had several and they were all polydactyal as well (had extra toes on their paws). we had freakazoid 1 and 2, demetria, lord vader, darth vader, darth tater, and mr. nipples. yeah my kids named them so dont ask me

I personally am not superstitious. I believe in bad luck, but it's not really possible to be caused by walking under a latter or by a black cat crossing your path.

I used to be superstitious, not anymore (won't go there)....my theory was that whenever you were walking with someone, and approaching a pole or a tree or anything that would separate the walk, you had to say bread and butter (or pan y mantequilla), or bad luck would come (bullshit:oogle:)....I know, it's dumb, don't know how I picked up the habit, probably some asshole instilled it in my head as a kid....but no longer do it, after murphy's law, I said what the hell......:smokin:
