They tore down the last one that was near me years ago. Was about a 15 mile drive to it. I miss them...was kinda nice hangin' in the car with your friends or a date and catchin' a new release.

No unfortunately not. I've always wanted to watch a movie at a drive-in never got a chance. A friend of mine who lives in Wisconsin said there's a couple up there so I might take a visit there when I find some free time.

I don't know if we ever had drive ins in Ireland. But having said that, we only got cars in the 80s so maybe that has something to do with it.

Two that are close, one they let you bring in a small grill and a person has some freedom and the other one only shows a few movies a year and older movies like Back to the Future and they are very strict.

I have thought about asking the owners of the one that only show a few movies a year if they would ever rent it out, because I have this idea about having an all night horror marathon.

We have one in Vegas but I've never gone to it because it's in the ghetto and I don't want to get shot .

None that I am aware of.

We do have the Alamo Draft House's Roving Road Show, which feels a lot like a drive-in sometimes. But no real drive-in.

My brother out in BFE Michigan has a great one.

My uncle told me back in his day drive-ins were everywhere. It's a shame it's not like that anymore.

They are a few here in East Tennessee. The closest being about 20-30min. from my house, which is in Chief_Falling_Rock's area. All of the ones withing a 50mile radius of me are all basically one company so they all have the same way of doing things. It's like $6 for a double feature and on occasion they do a triple feature or a "Dusk till Dawn" deal and that's usually $8. They don't allow you to bring a grill, but you can bring pretty much anything else as long as you don't have to cook it. lol But their concession stands are so awesome I don't see many people doing that. They actually have a website if anyone wants to check it out.

There's the Admiral Twin Drive-In here in Tulsa. I think there's one in OKC too. Not for sure. I like going sometimes, but it's around a lot of light so it's not the greatest experience. It's when you want to pay $7 to see two movies!

Yeah, there's one in my area. Never been to it, though. Truthfully, I don't think I'd be too big of a fan of going to one, though.

There's a town in South Dakota that I go to all the time when I'm down there. They have a drive-in that plays all summer. They get like 1 movie every 5 days. And then they switch back to the regular theatre the other 3 seasons.

They turned the SilverDome parking lot into one with 4 or 5 screens since the Lions left, but I've never been.

I worked at a drive-in when I was 17. Fun job.

Yep, I've got a good one near by called Sky View. Probably the one near woodenheart. I've been there about 3 times so far this summer...love that place. $9.00 for a double feature and besides grills, you can bring whatever you want. It's nice loading up the car with friends and the cooler with beer and sit out in a lawn chair and relax.

So far I've seen :
Ironman / Drillbit Taylor
Indiana Jones / Speed Racer
Hellboy 2 / Wanted

I got 2 about 15-20 minutes away, but they play crap movies with bad sound
and picture. Not bad if you want to get loaded and sort of pay attention to the movie.:sotired:

They had one in Hattiesburg, MS where I went to college. I had plans to go to it one Sunday night, but then the Friday before I turned on the weather forecast and saw Hurricane Katrina coming at me, so I got the hell outta dodge. Sadly, the Beverly Drive-In didn't make it.

Koolmike, we should open one up that shows both current and classic flicks. If you choose the classic flicks we make it all retro depending on the era of the film but of coarse it would be all over priced.:D...But have one night special with throw back prices, you down? We can call it KoolZ's Drive In?

Drive-ins are rarely a "I wanted to watch a movie" experience, thats what regular theatres are for. You go to drive-ins for the other experiences.

I can vaguely remember going to the drive-in movie when I was about three years old. This was in 1986-87. It was torn down shortly afterward.
