I've seen the previews and it looks pretty interesting. It just takes place in an alternate reality where vamps are common. I think it's a great concept; let's just see if they can do it right.

It's actually based off of a book series. It's not a bad read, and HBO seems to be doing a really good job with promoting it so far.I'd been seeing the faux-commercials for the vampire rights groups and dating services for a couple weeks. Finally punched in one of the web addresses and found out about the show.

As for this show, I just saw an ad for it during Ghost Hunters and it looks pretty good. Paquin is a good actress so I'm pretty sure if anything is bad with this series it won't be some lame lead heroine.

Everything was explained enough imo. They gave each character a scene showing their personality. The only thing we didn't know is why is Sookie so special? you can't reveal everything in 1 episode. Maybe its just me, I don't like being spoon fed info like I'm a baby which is probably why I hate Quinton Tarantino

I had no idea behind the show aside from it having vamps, so when I went in with low expectations and little knowledge behind it, and all I got was various people and situations with very little explained.

The chick is telekinetic, WTF? Are these vamps being experimented on? I know they brushed on it, but do they only not suck blood now cuz of that Japanese drink True Blood? There's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment, however, some was explained a bit in the second ep.

I'd rather have some sort of reasoning or explanation behind people in a premiere ep, so I'm not left wondering so much. The fact that the episode was boring didn't help matters.

There is werewolves in True Blood amoung other things like shapeshifters but then again there is enough books for 8 seasons thus far. This season is going basically page by page from the first book I hear.

They rushed in the beginning setting up the current mood/situation of the series. I was kinda hoping they would've had an overview of what happened the prior 2 years that brought them in this current situation. Of course, they'll probably do that as the series progresses.

Too many questions left unanswered for a finale as well. The person in the car in the last scene is obviously Lafayette. I really wanted to know more about the Mary Anne person, but I assume she's related to shape-shiftiness. Seeing Bill burn up was actually hard to watch for me, some good character development there. At least there's a guaranteed second season, so it's going to be interesting to see how Jason and Tara and others move on.

Well obviously we're supposed to be inclined to believe this with the same cinematography used for each back to back scene, with the view of one person a mystery and the other Bill, but I have a feeling it was something else, for a while I was convinced it was the bratty teen vampire because I remembered her saying "Who do you have to eat around here?" but then I remembered she wasn't dropped off at Bill's until "2 Weeks Later".

So no way to tell really. I foresee Tara in particular being conviced Bill killed Lafayette and Sookie will probably believe he didn't, and this could finally split Tara away from Sam and Sookie and begin to support the Mary Anne person.

i just read the second book and we'll it begins right where this season ends, and lafyette does die, but hes killed after he joined a sex club and was killed by humans, but in the show they made it more seem like a vampire killed him

oh yeah and in the show i think it could be jessica who killed him, she did say she was hungry

Amazing show! I think Tara makes it worth watching. She is so underrated. Although her accent is dreadful I think her acting is very good. She always has the best one liners too like...
