The big two. Without a doubt the two most popular comic labels with the most popular characters. DC has Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, etc. Marvel has Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-men, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, etc. Which do you prefer?

I really really like some of the characters in the DC universe, but for the entire make up of the universe itself and the characters therein, ya gotta Make Mine Marvel.

Not a comic book junkie at all so I'll go by some the movies I've seen.
Enjoyed the hell outta TDK. The movie being told through the villains POV (Joker and Harvey/Two Face) was very good as it kept Batman from being the focal point which I thought was a good thing. 8/10
Batman Begins was a good movie and moreover origin movie, but TDK was hella more entertaining. 7/10
Superman Returns was not my cup of tea at all. 5/10
I enjoy all 3 Spiderman films, with 3 being the weakest.
In order
Spiderman 8/10
Spiderman 2 7/10
Spiderman 3 6/10
I enjoy all 3 X-Men movies with 3 being the weakest.
X2 - 8/10
X1 - 7/10
X3 - 6/10
I can watch the Fantastic Four movies but their really nothing worth praising
F41 - 6/10
F42 - 5/10
Iron Man was absolute dynamite. Probably the best I've seen from the Marvel team yet. Both a good origin movie and overall entertaining movie 8/10.
In the end, Marvel gets the slight nod of the movies in both series I've seen but DC has argueably the best comic/crime thriller movie of both sets in TDK.

Marvel wins.
IMHO a much better wealth of heros and villans.

By habit, Marvel. There are just more characters coming out of their line regularly enough that I want to read about.
DC - when not in the middle of some 18 month, all title crossover, is fun to read. Unfortunately Marvel is trying to follow suit.
DC has its own coolness going on. This isn't a bash against them. But they seem to be an all or nothing company. Their three top-tier heroes are iconic. I love Nightwing and some of the lower string characters. And there is more of a fantastic feel to their entire pantheon.
So I am really only saying Marvel judging by where my money goes. I love 'em both.

Batman is my fav. character of all time but that's all DC has to offer me. Marvel while their stories have more appeal to the younger crowd compared to DC they have a lot more likable interesting characters. Marvel for me.

Definitely Marvel for me. Marvel has so many more great heros and villains and it's just a much richer universe in my opinion. If I had to narrow it down, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Gambit in particular are my three all time favorite comic book characters. As for DC, the only character in that universe that I like is Batman.

DC seems more adult than Marvel.
I probably own more Marvel but I think I prefer DC.
Stories are more varied for Batman/Superman.

DC has Batman and Watchmen. Probably the 2 things I love most of comics, period. But as a whole universe, it can't stand up to Marvel. I hate Superman, I have 0 interest in Wonder Woman, and I'm not a real Flash person. Green Lantern is the only other title I could see myself reading right now. I have thoughts about reading practically every major title of Marvel with some exceptions. Marvel's just got more interesting characters.

Don't know why but I would be interested in a Lobo vs. Wolverine. 2 Badasses against each other could make for a hell of a fight.

I'm goin with DC. Bein in my late 20's I perfer the more adult feel that it has. Love the Crisis storylines although the new one is taking its time getting real good. Batman is my favorite of all time, and I dig Green Lantern and a lot of the other DC characters. Not to say I don't love Marvel. Bigger Ultimate universe fan myself though, atleast starting to become that way. Love The Ultimates and Ultimate Spiderman. I hope the ultimatum storyline doesn't get rid of that universe. And I dig The Hulk, but honestly my favorite Marvel character? Deadpool. He's the greatest.

It's hard for me to just say Marvel. DC has the best character, villain, and story, hands down.

Only pick up a couple Marvel books with any regularity, anymore.
The Bat family, Elseworlds projects, and Vertigo line tip things in DC's favor.

The only DC character I've absolutely loved was Catwoman. All in all, every character from Marvel has rocked my socks pretty much. I LOVE X-Men. They're my favorites. Elektra is bad ass also.

I was a huge comic fan back in the day,
DC has 2 good characters: Batman and Lobo
Superman, Flash, Green Lanterns, Green arrow, Wonder Woman, Aquaman all fucking horrible almost unreadable
Marvel only has 1 "lead" character that i dislike: Thor
Spidey, Punisher, Xmen, Hulk, Cap America all awesome..especially the newer punisher comics

Yeah, I used to love Superman when I was a kid. But I quickly got bored with that character when I entered my teen years.

I was a huge comic fan back in the day,
DC has 2 good characters: Batman and Lobo
And Sandman, Hellblazer, Preacher, Y The Last Man, Swamp Thing, Sandman Mystery Theatre, Vinyl Underground, the Superman/Batman monthly, the Cassandra Cain Batgirl title, The new Green Arrow/Black Canary book...
To say nothing of more limited projects like the Bite Club series, the All-Star imprint, Identity Crisis, the aforementioned Elseworlds books, etc.
(But Lobo? Seriously?
Interesting for a bit, but he's the biggest one-trick pony there is. Without Bisley and Giffen working together on him, there's not much there).

I could never do the Vertigo titles back in the day. I tried, but it felt like pandering.
Start with five parts hipster.
Add one part sex, and two more parts gay sex (which are both just a different flavor of hipster pandering the way they handled it) Add two parts teenage philosophies of malleable realityI can see why it made money, but it just wasn't getting much of mine.
It may have changed since those days in the early/mid 90s, but I got too burned back in the day to try again now.

I never really considered Vertigo "DC" characters...thats why they split them off, most ended up being too uppity for my 12-16 year old tastes. Other than the newer punisher comics of the 2000s the last comic i read was in like 96-97. Back when Lobo was badass, I have no idea where they took him since then but I enjoyed them back in the day

Finally made a decision and went against my previous statements. I've been reading Flash tpb's and Kevin Smith's Green Arrow: Quiver, and I didn't think I'd love the characters as much as I do. DC gets the vote.

I prefer DC but for the past couple of years Marvel has just been producing some great stuff.
If anyones bored enough and looking for some good stuff to read pick these up:
The Brat Pack miniseries. The trade paperback has some altered pages and is weaker than the five issue miniseries. its a shocker.
the original Mask miniseries starts off exactly like the movie...up untill stanley goes out as the mask for the first time. Horror movie fans will love this in all its cartoonish gory.
The Authority...particularly the Mark millar/frank quietly issues.
The Boys...which is in publication now.

Marvel all the way... DC has good stuff but shoves it to Vertigo.
Batman is written so badly right now, I would half expect Morrison to be back on heroin. Though All Star Superman is good... so lets go and cancel it.
Green Lanter/Green Lanter corps are the best two books in mainstream DC right now.
JSA/JLA are good to get a feel of DC as a whole.
Green Lantern/Black Canary is a damn good book.
In vertigo you have Jack of Fables/Fables/Hellblazer/ Dmz/100 bullets etc etc
Final Crisis is so terrible that it doesnt even justify an explanation.
Marvel's books (besides 1MD) are so much better.

Marvel for me.
I stoped collecting about 97 and started about 83.
The titles I always bought each month were Hulk (my favorite),Spider Man,Conan,Fantasic Four and Punisher, And would always pick up any crossovers I could find.
Marvel also put out a 24 issue Godzilla series in 77,that I love and have been trying to complete the collection for years,I have about 4 issues left to find.....someday.
