Adam Sandler has blamed the media for influencing his box office ratings - because they never write good things about him.
The funnyman ignores critics who deliberately write bad reviews of his films but he is angry when their opinions influence the public.
He says, "You know what, I don't even believe half the things they say anymore - they've been writing bad stuff about me for a long time.
"I remember one time this lady came up to me and said 'I'm not gonna see your movie but my friend said it was good'.
"And I was like 'Ok why can't you see it again?' and she said, 'Oh I read that it wasn't very good' and I said, 'What about your friend' and she was like, 'Yeah she's not that smart'."

Hey Adam, have you considered that maybe your movies have actually sucked the last few years? Why would someone write something positive if they genuinely don't believe it's good?
It's like he's upset that critics don't like his movies the way he wants them to. How didn't he think a movie about a secret-agent hair-dresser would suck balls and generally not be well-received?
Your comedy is too dick-and-fart for too many people nowadays, Adam.

Afew different people in the same boat as Adam.
Outside of 'Click'.
I dont think hes done a good movie since the late 90s. Alot like Jim Carrey, he had a good run of films then falls into mediocrity.
Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy were my favs of his early work.

I agree with Redpath. Although I never listen to critics, I listen to fans who have a chance of actually liking what their gonna watch. Not some critic who's probably gonna hate anything Sandler was to do.

Zohan var pretty weak, but I liked Click, I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, Reign Over Me, 50 First Dates, Mr. Deeds, and stuff that he has done not too long ago.
They're fun and easy flicks! Happy Gilmore and stuff like that were alot better though, of course.

Rob Schneider did the same thing awhile back I believe.
The difference for me though is Rob has never been funny IMO.

The critics never liked Sandler. Difference is Billy Madison and happy gilmore cost shit to make and now his films are costing 60-70 million with 20 million in his pocket and the films aren't bringing in enough profit.

His career sort of took a nose dive after the waterboy and Billy Madison imo.

I though Chuck and Larry was...meh? I mean, some things were funny but an hour and a half of "I'm too tough to be gay...oh wait I've changed my ways and like gays now" was a bit much. Kevin James isn't all that funny.
All of the serious films such as Click, Spanglish, Punch Drunk Love, and Reign Over Me that Sandler has done in the 2000's have been great in my books. The Zohan had two funny moments, the best being the call to the other country where the area code kept going...that was it.
Happy Gilmore 2 anyone? ahaha

Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and Bulletproof are my favorites.

Sandler, Myers and Murphy all had a god awful Summer this year. I think that it's a sighn that the people are getting tired of them doing the same sort of Comedy over and over. Sandlers always been the guy who strives to get what he dreams with the evil greedy guy in his way, Myers has has always played an over the top character with an elabort costume/make up and Murphies always played more then one character in a film.
Maybe it's time for the 3 to try something new? :hmmm:
 That won't happen.

I never liked him but the media/critics are doing their job, his movies have sucked and if he wants to blame someone blame his agent for getting him horrible jobs

Sandler makes pretty good movies for the most part imo. I've like all his movies except Spanglish, 50 First Dates, and Reign Over Me. I haven't seen Zohan yet but I haven't heard anything good from anyone.
Like I said earlier I like his stuff but it's starting to get stale and if he makes another flopper I would hope he'll just stick with his Happy Madison Production and help other people find the funny.

Sandler sucks. I never thought he was funny. Happy Gilmore was ok not because anything Sandler did but his supporting cast was pretty good.
I never got the whole talking like a baby routine.
He sucks.

I agree with Terrorsick. I can't think of one movie of his I really enjoyed. "Big Daddy" was alright, but I don't even remember it anymore. "Anger Management" was good...I guess. "Spanglish" was a shocker. But the way Sandler acts sometimes...it just annoys me.

Happy Gilmore is the only Sandler movie I like. Other then that, I think he and the rest of his movies suck.

Suck on that, Sandler.

When considering actors like Sandler, Jim Carry, and Will Ferrel its hard to totally blame them or their agents. Lately, its a straight case of "seen one, seen them all" with anything they have done in the past few years. Almost a pittiful state to, considering they started out well enough. This career stale-mate with acting parts is never easy to recover from.

I don't see the appeal of Adam Sandler, but I will
admit BIG DADDY did have me there.
Only movie I like of his.

Happy Gilmore is my fav.
Sandler is kinda in the past now imo...then there was Mike Myers....then there was Will Ferrell ...but now the big comedies appear to be Knocked Up and Pineapple Express etc ...then another new face of comedy will come along with a different style....its a cycle.

If their attempts at serious film roles did the same bank that their dick and fart joke roles did (Punch Drunk Love vs Little Nicky), they'd love the critics to death.
