As many probably already know, there's a site that enables someone to view another website from years prior called the Wayback Machine. I've taken UHM back many times and it's always nice revisiting how things used to look and show just how much things have changed around here.
In this particular case I thought I'd spend time going back to the old message board. The first board I had was around '99 or '00 and was basically just a single page that consisted of various posts. It wasn't until '01 that I got a board called vBulletin and things started to change...
----------------------------------------
Here's one of the first variations of the board:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010405054226/www.upcominghorrormovies.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/upcominghorrormovies/ultimatebb.cgi
Some of the links may work, some may not, but the purpose is to basically just give you an idea of how much things have changed.
Second version:

This third version is when it started to get a lot bigger. At the time I was working on a project called UHM-Online that was basically my idea for something along the lines of Myspace, but for horror fans. There was chat, email, message board, profiles/pics, and just an all around great community.

The idea was canned after only a few months because I realized that it was just too much work for one person. However, looking back, had I continued and maybe had a staff, I'd probably be a millionaire by now. Just look at Tom from Myspace!
Anyway, this is the third version hosted at UHM-Online:

----------------------------------------
As many veteran members know, because of so many board changes and what-not, members had to constantly re-register to the board. Sometime in mid-to-late '03 I finally created the board that we still use today:
1st look:

2nd look:
http://web.archive.org/web/20040402050208/www.upcominghorrormovies.com/uhm/
A lot of members have come and gone. A majority of the ones from before '03 have vanished. However, there are still a handful that have stuck around after the '03 mark, but don't post as often. It's sad looking back at some of these old posts and members, but just like everything else that ages, changes occur and people move on with their lives.

UHM Gallery:
UHM has had three different kinds of galleries for members (that I can remember). The first had a horrible design and (I believe) was available sometime in '02 or 03. The second was part of UHM-Online and was basically just profile pages, listing a person's info and a single picture. I'm not even sure if I should count that one since it wasn't an actually gallery, just member pages that I created myself.
The third one, before what we have now, was available a few years back and was probably the best until the one we're using came along. A lot of people requested I supply a link, so here it is:
http://web.archive.org/web/20041026064251/www.upcominghorrormovies.com/gallery/index.php
A few pictures actually still work for some reason, but a majority of the pics don't load. However, many of the comments for pictures remain, so you can see a lot of the funny comments and bickering that occurred between various members. :mhehe:
I hope you've enjoyed this look back and have come to appreciate UHM a little bit more :tiphat:
