I'm halfway through the series now having just finished the second book like 10 minutes ago. I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know how i feel about it. I mean it's addicting as hell, but i can't figure out why. These books are clearly chick oriented and at times I almost feel like I'm reading a school girls fan fic about her wet dream of a vampire. They are also extremely slow paced. But all the same I find myself strangely craving more. Like I just need to know how this plays out.

I've decided it's a chick book and wont be reading it, 2 of my friends who have read it though say Stephanie Myer is a horrible author, but i cant really judge now can I? still I'll pass, I'm SICK SICK SICK of these dumbass vampire books and movies with these lame love story's and metrosexual guy vampires. What happened to vampire supposed to be scary?

I think vampire love stories are hot.....But I'm a chick so there. I also like the evil blood loving, neck ripping, horror vampires too.

Yeah I've just grown very tired of how vampires have been in books and films in the last few years, which is why I've lost almost all interest in them. Besides the only living dead I need are zombies  Although I DO keep my eye out for a good vampire flick.

I've read 3 of the four books and they are okay. They kind of get a little boring. Some good teen vamp novels is the Vampire Academy series and The house of night series. Basically they both are about vampire boarding schools. What's funny is when i was a teen, I never use to read "young adult" novels. Now that I am an adult I read them.

Unfortuately, I love my erotic vamps as opposed to the scary ones. There are some great vamp books out there, you just have to have an open mind and climb through the bad ones to get to the good ones.

I just finally started Twilight and I'm liking it, but I still think the Southern Vampire Books are better.

As for the whole Romantic Vamps VS Horror Vamps deal, I like both. There's really nothing set in stone about what a vampire should be. If you want to get technical, I could argue that vampires should be goofy looking counts and barons.
