Howdy.

I'm making a site that will specialize in bizarre, surreal, gory and twisted underground film reviews, along with a person on this site that I won't reveal yet.

I'm in need of someone to actually make the site for me.
My brother was gonna help me but he is taking so long time with another site so I thought I might as well look for someone else to help me if I can find one.

I have the design ready in a picture.
You'll need to know php or something like that. Login, uploading and stuff will be needed on the site, but still not something über-fancy.

If you do a fine and quick job, I'll pay of course, but only with Paypal, on the following 25th (if you're done at 1st, 10th, etc, 25th is the day). You'll also be credited.

I have a server to put it on.

PM if you're really interested, but post in here if you have questions.

There will be interviews up already at start. Contests and everything too, so I can assure you that the site won't go to waste, if you're worried about that.

Ah, I never knew this thread existed.. I dunno how to do that stuff. You could always hire someone..

I would hire someone if my brother couldn't do it for free. I just wanted to see if someone could do it quicker. I can pay if someone is very fast, but still not high amounts of money.

Should add that this site won't try to be or steal fans from other sites like UHM. This is more a companionship to every horror site out there.

If you want all that stuff then look for different blogging software that you can install yourself. Wordpress is popular -- even the New York Times seems fond of it.

Beyond that, if you have everything else you want, it's a matter of putting the style together.

Sorry that I didn't see this before. I have re-invented the blog for my music site and it's a tedious thing to do. The largest benefit is that it can also be a little more secure.

And as implied, I have several sites of my own at this point plus a day job doing the same thing. Back in the day I would have happily offered to help more, but I don't have the time to really do any positive service to your project.

I've looked at sites like Wordpress, which one of Sweden's biggest horror review sites uses, but it misses the thing I would want above all. A way for me to alphabetically list all the reviews.

Seriously Misfit, just be quite if you don't have anything remotely intelligent to say.

Wordpress plugins are very easy to install.

I see a lot that will help you organize your posts or pages alphabetically.

I wish they had as many of these blog-related templates when I started UHM, because I would have definitely used them. I considered switching over a couple times, but it's just too much work to transfer all these movie and review pages over and it'd be a pretty big change look-wise for the site. Just not worth it.

I can't even find the goddamn "Plugin Management" page on Wordpress.

Go all the way to the top right. All the way up there.

Then go down just a little. It says: Settings Plugins Users

Click on "Plugins". Assuming you're using something at or above 2.5.

Now the widgets are a total pain in the ass. But those may need less worry.

I don't have "Plugins" there, that's the problem. Pretty sure I downloaded the latest though. Fucking hell.

Okay -- did you first log in?

http://www.whatever-your-site-is.com/wp-login.php

Sorry if that's a "too obvious" answer -- it's hard to know what's going on from the other side of a message board.

If possible, use the "admin" login and password that you got when you first installed wordpress.

I ended up trying blogspot instead, cause I noticed the problem was my computer. For some reason it didn't operate very well with Wordpress. I have managed to get something decent going with blogspot so far. Will link when it's all up and going.

Gonna use this till my brother will help me with the real design.
