My friend has a Sony VGN-AR 770E Laptop and recently bought Gears of War for it. He meets the minimum requirements, except for the fact that his driver is apparently out of date for the game. His graphics card is a GeForce 8600M GT and sporting a NVIDIA 153.xx driver, while the game apparently requires at least a 163.44 driver.
The Sony site doesn't have an updated driver available, and the Nvidia site has drivers for PC's only for some reason (at least from what I saw). He tried installing the regular ones and it gave him an error about it the driver not being compatible with his hardware.
We've searched for a resolution to this problem and haven't really found anything to help him. He contacted Sony and they apparently plan to have the updated driver on their site "eventually" and don't recommend third party drivers. Anyone run into an issue like this that may know how to get an updated driver? :shrugs:
