Found some hurricane safety tips: (common sense mostly)

Be ready to put your plan and preparation into action.
Pay attention to local weather reports on radio, television, or the internet.
Have house boarded up, or have storm shutters in place.
Have plenty of food and water.
Make sure all your tools, supplies, and first aid kit available for use.
Have a secure room available.

Stay in Secure Room.
Stay away from windows.
Do not use the phone, or candles.
Monitor Weather and Civil Service Bulletins on either regular or NOAA radio.
Have supplies on hand.
Remain indoors when the eye moves over your area because the storm will resume shortly.

Sweet Jesus im lucky!!!! That Hurrican kicked the Galveston/Houston's ass and I had power all night except for 1 hour last night. My Brother, nephews and friends live about 5-10 min. from me and had NO power from midnight and still have no power. Trees are everywhere along with trash, gonna be raiining for the next few days but hte worst has passed. Thanks for all the prayers and advice, my wife and son are doing great. My one problem is all the stores are closed and im down to a 6 pack. :negative:

Yo mike when it finally hit Galveston which is about a hour and half away from me it was still in Florida!!!! The size of the entire Hurrican was 600 miles from begining to end. Galveston is completly under water.
