Prince of Horror

I have recently seen this movie Wednesday night. When I got done watching it I was very mixed up about it all (the last five minutes to be exact) and what was the point in the ending.
The story itself focuses on a girl, who witnessed her father kill himself, who goes on to college. As usual she meets new friends and tries to start over again, well that is until the kids find out that the school used to be an Asylum, where a mad Doctor used to torment his patience to try and "cure" them. When the group decides to go into the abandoned part of the building (which is the old Asylum) and investigate, they get more than what they bargained for as the Doctor comes back and haunts them.
Now the films is very slow, nothing good actually happens until fifty five minutes into it. The characterization is amazing for a low budget flick. They let us know a little bit about every character, but one problem that I did have is the fact that the characters seemed to have parents who were molesters, abusers, and such, which made them be like they are (lame). The gore was okay, since this is an David R. Ellis film, but I did expect a little more coming from him.
But my biggest fault was the ending when it came down to the finale of the killer and the girl herself, which could have been done many scenes later. What saved the movie was the gore and a little nudity from the lead character herself. But I have to give this a 5 out of 10, for it's painful ending and slow pacing.
