Well I happened to be going through the teen year films, which consisted of the year 1996 through 1999, and I happened to past by this flick. When I was just ten I enjoyed this movie, and now I still do as much as I did then.
The synopsis is simple: Students suspect that their faculty and school has been taken over by aliens, and it turns out that they are right. So they all go on a quest to find the leader of the aliens in hope to end the chaos.
Now one thing I liked about this film is that there is never a dull moment. We get some very great characterization from the students and teachers. The main characters are your basic characters for a horror film: The bitch, jock, loner, stoner, suspected dike, and the good girl, but they are interesting.
There isn't much for gore in this film, but being directed by Rodriguez, you can expect some very fun and crazy things to go on here, moving heads and fingers, bugs crawling through the skin, etc. There is a little nudity, no sex, and forced drug use, which is the aliens weakness.
So this was just a fun ride in my opinion. I love some of the movie of the late 90's period. You should definitely check this flick out. I give it 7/10 for me, would have been gave it something higher if they would have amped up the gore and picked up the pacing.
