The newest phone to copy the Iphone is coming! What's so special? Google maps, trackball, slide out full keyboard etc. They have a $25 program to increase your speed via hotspots and other internet features..

scheduled to be released Oct 22nd for $179 with 2 year contract provided by T-Mobile.
Personally this phone looks generic and cheap, then again it is T-Mobile which is right down there with Metro PCS in quality.
So let's recap all the clones thus far, feel free to add your own lol

Touch Diamond

I agree, it does look pretty cheap, but then again, it's not like I need a ton of crazy shit to do with my phone. All I use mine for is calling people.

I agree looks like a piece of crap. paying extra for that kinda shit is ridiculous. one would think with how how much you have to pay each month just for calling people they should give texting and internet free or atleast cheaper. They would get a lot more people to their service and a lot less drama with fucking up on peoples phone bills. In the long run they would make more money and make it quicker. They should get their heads out of their asses and realize what really needs to happen!

The phone isn't entirely Google's. Android is the back end running the phone, but a third party (HTC) developed the hardware.
Other phone makers are apparently working on their own. One article I read earlier listed Samsung as a probable maker.
I honestly love T-Mobile's service, and will probably get myself a Google Phone when my current contract ends next summer. I already have Gmail read all of my other accounts and act as a "master" account. Being able to check on other sites from wherever sounds like a good deal to me, too.
The iPhone never caught my interest.

I haven't seen any of the others, but my boss has an I-phone and it is pretty freakin sweet. I'll get one as soon as I have the funds for it.

I've never been a fan of the IPhone personally. There's more then few reasons why, but don't exactly feel like pointing out all the flaws. Besides, I have a Windows based phone that does shitloads more then the IPhone, and I paid $99 for it.
As for the Google phone from TMobile (the G1)...it looks pretty sweet. Lets not forget that TMobile's 3G network is out NOW, so it'll be interesting to see how the G1 performs. It's nothing I'm going to rush out to buy, but it seems like a cool piece of tech.

Nasty looking phone. Have enough second-hand experience with the iPhone that that would be my choice. AT&T I'm not thrilled with, so Id wait until their exclusivity agreement expires anyway.
'Course, if my iPod takes a dump before then, I'll replace it with a Touch and never give the iPhone a second glance.
