Prince of Horror

I am still on some of my favorite 80's horror movie. Now a year before I was born, a very interesting flick came out called Child's play. Now like other movies, it was a success and it fell into the greedy pool of other sequels such as Halloween, A nightmare of elm street, friday the 13th, etc. To me this should have stopped after the first, because it was a good flick.
Now the story is about a killer that gets chased down and shot by a cop. He runs into a toy store where he converts his soul into a doll. Some years later, a boy happens to purchase the doll that the killer's soul is in and that is when things get strange as the doll goes on a killing spree, causing others to suspect the boy of being a murderer.
Now this happens to be an enteresting flick, I like it. Now what I like most about the movie is the fact that it is original. Though we do get your basic hack and slash, it is done by a killer doll, which isn't the first I think to ever do this, but the first to be recognized and make a way for a genre of killer doll movies. I also find the killer himself, chucky, to be an icon, for the simple fact of who would expect a doll of killing anybody?
The movie does have faults, a lack of gore-which makes it more entertaining-but I really wanted to see some and the fact that we don't know much about the killer himself. Hum...I see why Hollywood is making so many remakes, it's not that they are running out of idea's, but the simple fact that they are making up for the mistakes that they have made in their past, but end up making this worse.
So I think this was entertaining, a very tense filled movie, simply for the fact that you never know what and who the killer is going to kill next, and for the simple fact that it has a good villain. So I give this movie a 7. I hope you guys didn't expect this to be higher, it's good, but with a two foot killer doll and no gore, it isn't great.
