Second and perhaps the last sneak preview review from my coming site that I'll post before it's out (steelba, what would my overall rating be for this one? :confident:)

Plot:
When an atomic bomb is dropped north of the Arctic Circle, a monster awakens. A monster that's been sleeping in ice for over 100 million years. This gigantic rhedosaurus soon finds it's way to New York City, where fossils from the same kind has been found before, and brings horror to the entire city when it destroys everything in it's way.
Our thoughts:
The movie starts off with an experiment, which happens to be the dropping of an atomic bomb, and it only takes a few minutes for the beast to appear. The lead, Tom Nesbitt, is the only one who survives the first attack, and obviously alot of the movie is about him trying to convince people, but in this movie it works really well, and it's never boring to watch.
The effects in this movie are great, especially the beast, which actually was a fullsize forty-foot/50 ton puppet. We get to see the entire monster early in the movie. This is a good thing in any monster movie with a good looking beast. As long as you get to see it more than that one time at the beginning, of course. Which we do here. They're not shy to show us this amazingly well made dinosaur, and every scene is just as cool as the last one. There were two scenes with the monster that I loved more than the rest; the boat scene, and the lighthouse scene. They felt artistic somehow. I just liked it alot. Every scene with this sexy rhedosaurus are awesome enough to give a dickless man a boner. And no, I'm not speaking from experience..But still.
I have a hard time finding negative things about this movie, because it's exactly what it should be, and even better most of the time. I can tell you about the worst thing about the movie, just because a review needs to find both good and bad sides. I really didn't like the underwater scene. First of all, why the hell was horror music playing when the shark and the squid fought eachother? Second, why did they show them fight? Just seemed pointless to me. Another thing about the underwater scene is the fact that every time we see the beast under water, you can easily tell that it wasn't filmed under water. You especially notice the difference from the shark/squid scene. And last thing, why is the beast walking on the bottom of the sea, and not swimming around? Seems like he would. This scene didn't make the movie bad though.
Fun fact taken from Wikipedia: "This film (which was inspired by the successful 1952 re-release of KING KONG) was the first film to feature a giant creature awakened or mutated by a Nuclear Bomb."
Overall, this is one cool 50's monster flick, with one of the coolest monsters from that time period. Everyone who enjoy watching creature features with dinosaurs and monsters, or just great black and white movies will love this movie.
Positive things:
- The beast! Awesome looking, well made, great movement. Just perfect.
- Pretty good story.
- Has some of the coolest scenes I have seen in any black and white movie.
Negative things:
- The blood from the monster looks like black dough.
- It makes a somewhat silly noise when it dies.
