Thought it was a pretty decent fantasy...even with Tom Cruise. Special FX were great and Tim Curry was an excellent Satan or whatever horned evil being he was supposed to be. Acting was pretty good. Nice tale of good vs. evil.

These guys freaked me out at first:

I really enjoy this movie. One of the best creatures out of this flick, and also disturbing is Meg Mucklebones. Still creeps me out. :shakes:

Man, I completely forgot about her. She is a great character. Too bad short lived.

Great FX; one of my fav. fantasies. Probably one of the best, if not, THE best on-screen interpretation of Satan I've seen.

The lead goblin is my favorite goblin concept. Closest thing outside of certain drawings to how goblins should look like.

Great movie...they just don't make them like this anymore.
Tim Curry owned this movie. I don't think he was particularly "The Devil" as I remember his calling out to his "Father" when he was being killed.
Great SPFX though...

"Every wolf suffers fleas... Tis easy enough to SCRATCH!!!!"

One of my favorite flicks... Fairly oozes with Ridley Scott's style...

I own two versions of the movie, the American Version and the European Version... I like the added and extended scenes of the Euro-version (lengthier interraction with Meg Mucklebones etc), but I love the soundtrack of the American version.

Even had the soundtrack played at my wedding...

I found it interesting to find out that the look of the head Goblin, Blix, was based on The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards... I never noticed it until I watched a behind-the-scenes featurette on the DVD and they mentioned it... then I was like How the hell could I have NOT noticed it... Blix looks just like him!!!

Yes, he does indeed call out to his father. Though, I always thought his father was essentially, the darkness, never any actual being. This is just what I thought, I could very well be wrong.

I haven't seen this movie in years but god was I obsessed with it when I was a kid. Heh when i was a child I accused it of being a legend of zelda rip off. But all the same this movie is amazing by every sense of the word.

Higher higher burning fire making music like a choir!

I also own the 2-disc Ultimate Edition with the American and European cuts of the film. In all honesty, the Euro score wasn't that bad, but I prefer the sync music featured on the American score, especially during Lily's dance scene in the lair of the Lord of Darkness. It was also nice to see an extended scene with Meg Mucklebones, who I thought was one of the best and freakiest characters I've seen in a fantasy film. I only wished Ridley Scott added more scenes with her. :(

I remember having dreams about this movie when I was little, like I lived in it's fantasy world. And I used to steal this lovely dress my Aunt owned and I'd put it on, twirl in the backyard and pretend I was her lol Man I miss being a kid

This is my favorite fantasy movie of all time!

It is just so damn beautiful!

Ridley Scott rules! That man should never stop making movies! I mean, Alien and Blade Runner, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, all gorgeous, amazing pieces of film!

Would be perfect if you photo shopped Tom Cruise out of there! I completely forgot he was in that, but since it was before he got annoying I guess I can overlook it..because that unicorn is so badass! :rockin:

Maybe you always fancied Christopher Walken for the role of Jack?

Just bought The Ultimate Edition 2 DVD set for only 15 bux at FYE.

2 different versions, both great.

If you liked the US version, you'll love the director's cut.

As a child it scared me to death. A visual dream, a beautiful score, a moral tale
Legend is a 1985 fantasy film directed by Ridley Scott and has an awesome cast Tom Cruise, Mia Sara, Tim Curry, Alice Playten, David Bennent, and Billy Barty. Though not a very notable success when first released, has since gained a cult following.
Fairy-tale romance about a princess and the young man who takes her into an enchanted forest to view the magical unicorns, but things go awry when the malevolent King of Darkness seeks to ensnare the princess for himself.
We see fascinating creatures of every size and shape, we see the customary gnomes, fairies, elves, goblins, unicorns and so on. This is a Beautiful shot movie, with darkness that really lights up the screen. For me this was and always have been top on my list. Sure it can seem corny to some, but for 1985 this was above its time. Had some scenes that sent goose bumps up and down my spine. Like this one: Oh Tim curry is Amazing as the Darkness

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/616PgQCUcp0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/616PgQCUcp0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And freaky Scenes like this one

Well I was 7yrs old and actually had cool parents who took me to see films like this. My mom was real sci-fi and horror fan and took me to see Aliens and many Halloween's and F13's for example. My dad would take me to see flicks like Goodfellas
