Another fan game being made, but its gained a hell of alot of steam though through word of mouth, more developers, etc.
Beta v. 0.2 was just released recently.
The premise of the game is similiar to that of SSE with Brawl except it combines Dr. Willy, Robotnik, Bowser, etc. Not sure about Megaman himself as I believe hes a NPC (Non playable character).
Right now you can choose from Sonic, Tails, Mario and Luigi but as of now their slated to create and code 10 characters each with their own unique balances and powers including the Megaman suit, etc.
Right now the 10 slated playable characters are Mario, Luigi, Wario, Kirby, Link, Sonic, Tails, Arthur, Roll and Samus. With possibly more additions as the game gets built.
The game is run of the an engine that combines SMB2, SMB3 and SMW. Its divided up into different worlds much Mario 3 was. Sonic will have his own world as will Mario, Megaman as well as Halo and Doom, etc.
Thats about all im gonna say though. Heres the official site/forum and wiki with a ton more info and some gameplay videos to watch. Yes its a PC game but I've played it and its hella fun. The only problem I've had is configuring my logitech controller for the game.
